First I look at the guest list. If there is someone I feel like I have to meet, that’ll bring me in. I did used to pick up graphic novels but recently sold off my collection. Now just odd ins and outs. Maybe Pops I can’t find anywhere else. Maybe toys from my childhood. Original art. Really anything that catches my eyes. And always the hope of a cute cosplayer. Ha

I've never been to any kind of con. I do want to one day though.

Ha This and this. I've never checked to see what vendors were attending a con, but a guest list is make or break for me. That's not to say that I won't shop while I'm there. I'll look for figures on my want list or maybe some cool magnets or pins or art prints, but overall, it's all about the guests.

I check first on who's attending and decide if it's worth going to or not.

I go in costume. I like to show off my work & I like seeing other cosplayer's creations. Plus I like to get the odd original artwork from different artists. The last con I went to, I got really great art of Nosferatu, Lemmy & Bruce the shark from Jaws.

1st off i'll check the guest list, then if there's sombody I like to meet i'll go and search my collection for an item or two they can sign. When i'm at the Comiccon if there's a cool exclusive i'll probably buy it.

My answer upon approaching this thread from the outside was "wrestler signings" as I'm not a big comic person and I've never been to one before. But now I think I might need to go to one some day. I'd love to see what I can pick up as well as meeting new people.

I love cons big and small. I attended my first over 2 years ago and have been to about 6 since. I look for must have autographs from film stars, tv stars and wrestlers, but my favorite has become artist alley amd finding underground toy makers. I attended Star Wars Celebration this year, amd the worst part about cons are scalpers. Exclusives sold out everywhere! Then they would roll back to their booth and resell them at an absolute ludicrous mark up.
Cosplay is my next checklist item.

I am going to Rhode Island Comic Con for the first time this year. Is anyone familiar with it? Has anyone been? I don't want to preorder photo ops or autographs if they are available to just get photos at their tables. Also signature pre orders say 8x10 photos. I may have figures or posters I want signed instead. Any feedback is much appreciated.

I've actually worked at the last three Boston Comic-Cons. So I'd get to show up a little early each day and have a look around. WWE Elites, Marvel Legends, Star Wars Blacks, I collect each.
