Hey guys, need some advice. I got a mammoth head of hair and usually just shave it cause its easier to manage however I fancy a change. Do you think I could grow it out? The only thing is its the kind of hair thats gets really puffy and frizzy, its naturally wiry hair, anyone else got similar hair texture that can advise?

Every barber I've ever been to has said "This has to be the thickest hair I've ever seen!" I've got it down to my shoulders most of the time. Recently decided to cut it short and now that it is short, I never want it to be long again. But go for it, try it, you may like it. I personally didn't care for it since it was always in the way but some chicks seemed to dig it.

Rock that sh!+ like Blake on Workaholics. I have hair like his and just recently shaved it all off. Biggest regret ever since that time I didn't sign the birth certificate.

I tried growing out before but caved in and shaved it after about 4-5 months. Is your hair wiry?

I could grow a killer afro but Id like it to grow it down and long. Im thinking once it gets long enough it would fall under its own weight rather than sit out and look frizzy all the time, what do you think?

In high school, I rocked a gross white afro for a while. I eventually switched shampoos & it grew long instead of out. You could always get it straightened as well.

Brush it out as often as possible. I brush my hair once in the morning and once before I go to bed. I've had long hair for almost 10 years. I grow it to a certain length then donate to wigs 4 kids.

I'd like for my hair to be longer, but it just gets puffy. So I keep it short just for management. What I wish my hair looked like: What my hair actually looks like: Life is hard....

I had 2+ years worth of hair growth & it’s just something you have to manage. I got to a point where I got lazy & wasn’t managing it (brushing I’d skim on & cutting it to keep the length I wanted) & it got all tangled/knotted. Plus I hated finding hair strands all over the place.

My hair has been long/short/long/short and shaved in between for about 15 or 20yrs now. It's really long at the moment.
I've worn it frizzed or all toyed out in the past when my ex would make it up for me and I'd let her because why not. She used pomeade for that or some crap.
There are leave-in conditioning products that will help your hair keep from frizzing up too, if that's a major issue. I guess you could straighten it but that's a lot of bullcrap just for hair. I also would recommend not shampooing it daily...or conditioning. Unless it really smells. Even then, try to go every 3-5 at least before conditioning. Overdoing that will make it greasy and make it even more frizzy and afro-like.
I'd post a pic but I'm lazy and dunno where to upload one. Mine is getting unruly so I'm going to chop it down to a normal boy-length cut soon.
Good luck!

Im currently growing mine back out. Ive had "normal" hair length all my life until 2003 when I just got tired of it and shaved it down. Ive been on a 1-2 clip since. Unfortunately its thinned some but not too awful bad.
