Creative should be let go then. ‘Cause how the hell do you not have anything for Austin Aries?

This is like the 2nd time WWE wasn't fully interested in Austin Aries. Heck of a wrestler and far better than most wrestlers in the WWE.

I can't believe Vince wouldn't go for his idea of wanting to sell protective banana holders.

There has to be more to this than that. Yes I can believe they maybe didn't have any ideas of what to do with him on 205. But that has never stopped them from sitting on a talent's contract anyhow. He could have went back to commentary. He could have went back to NXT. He could have been offered something/anything.
I'd be willing to bet that the story he was given, but that there is more to it than that.

It’s too bad. Overwhelmingly, WWE’s had great success with recent TNA veterans. Aries could’ve done very well.

It's funny because today the shows have a good amount of wrestling. Yeah, this was around the time of Batista's face run I believe, because part of the script he wrote, just says Batista promo. The woman who said there was too much wrestling, asked him what would Batista being saying, and Corino said something to the affect of Batista knows how to cut a promo, he'll know what to say, and she shot back with a snarky, "I tell Batista what to say." And if I remember right, he said, it was at a creative meeting, when he got the 'there's too much wrestling in this script.' He responded with 'aren't we a wrestling company?' and as soon as he said that, he looks over to Dusty, and I want to say Arn Anderson, quickly shaking their heads at him, like they were saying, 'no you idiot, shut up!' Why would they do that? Arn and Dusty are old school?

Ok thats messed up. If you had nothing for him, they should have either send him back on commentary, or back to NXT where I'm sure HHH would not have had a problem finding a spot for him.

If true that's really messed up and you probably shouldn't call yourself a creative writing team....but I feel like there were probably other reasons as well.

The best way to get what WWE 'creative' is, is to watch the clip from several years back when Steve Corino did a shoot with Terry Funk. Corino tells the story of when he was given a try out for a spot on the creative team. He turned in, basically a script, for a show, and had one of the higher ups in creative tell him there was too much wrestling in it. I remember that! He then talked about how he put WWE food in tupperware containers and Chavo Guerrero saw Corino doing that and said, "that is a great idea!"

Why would they do that? Arn and Dusty are old school? They didn't do it, because they were against Corino and disagreed with him. When he said that 'aren't we a wrestling company,' (which in the shoot he jokes about how he didn't even have the job, and was talking like he was already hired), he was talking to this higher up in creative, and they were behind her. They were basically trying to signal him to stop before he dug his hole deeper. The best way to get what WWE 'creative' is, is to watch the clip from several years back when Steve Corino did a shoot with Terry Funk. Yeah, he said how Chavo also said how he never thought of doing that, and Corino laughed and said, hey, you're here next week, I'm not.

He still seems overall genuinely positive about the company so it doesn’t look like they left on bad terms. Nice to know people that preached that he left due to WrestleMania DVD royalties and lack of cruiserweight title run for him leaving were proved wrong lol

I was really surprised when I heard this. He even stated that he was open to being a manger, announcer, or even going back to NXT. For them to have nothing for him really surprised me.

It's almost like Vince just wants to make 205 Live a joke show with Enzo as the head piece of that show. I rather see Neville vs. Aries for the 100th time in a row, than see Enzo run that show. But hey, it is the WWE, so we shouldn't be shocked that an annoying character that can't work over shadows two men who can do it all in the ring. If you listen to the podcast, Aries had absolutely no interest in continuing the Neville feud because it didn't make sense to.

I feel like WWE has really got to smarten up and recognize that they are not the only game in town anymore. Whereas NJPW and ROH aren't ever going to outdo WWE in terms of being #1 profit wise in the world, those two companies along with independent wrestling can take away WWE's audience. Losing Aries & Neville might not seem big, but its just the first pull at a seam that could easily give way at any moment. PS: anyone reading dirt sheets will tell you that KO and Sami Zayn have been reportedly unhappy in WWE of late . . . Just image ROH with KO , Zayn, Aries , Neville, Bryan etc . . Not saying KO and Sami are quitting . . . but imagine if WWE made them angry enough and they did . . .
