Good review. Only one I have of S3 is Goldberg and yeah, it's underwhelming to say the least.
Seems like this entire line is going to be a huge disappointment based on the coming lineups and cost cutting. Only on wave 3 and they're repeating molds and not bothering to mold basic things like Dean's shirt.
Hasbro didn't re-use a single mold until Series 5 I believe. Which was around the point where they had had at least 50 unique figures into the line.

I've gotta say, I think some people are being a bit too critical when it comes to these figures... they're meant to be early-90's "kids" type figures, so stuff like Mankind having no sleeves and Ambrose's shirt doesn't really bother me.
I picked up the new set from Smyths yesterday and think they're great... even the Goldberg is growing on me(!).

Did a ton of repaints, several figures were rereleased unchanged...I could keep going. I know as a kid we likely didnโt notice these things but as an adult we do. I think these fit perfectly next to my Hasbro collection on the wall at my parents basement. Keep them coming Mattel!

I am a MOTU Classic collector, so I have seen many great and many poor figures by Mattel and am used to their up and downs. Nevertheless I am still disappointed. The App 1 looks totally rushed. Personally I believe this (rushed line) is why they just recycled stuff at the moment. They have realized that the Retro line performs better than expected and want to cash in as long as it is hot. The first two (WM exclusive) lines were simply better. They achieved a clever mix of new sculpts with smart recycling. If they manage to get back to that quality I am willing to buy 2-3 poor designed lines. Looking at what is comming, we will get new tooling, so everything is ok for now. But this series is simply weak and shouldn't be the standard if they want the Retros to continue any longer than 2018.

Here is what I think would be a great compromise with the rereleases... Instead of releasing 2 jumping Stings and 2 jumping Sethโs, do what customizers do... do a head swap. If you feel like the line needs a 2nd Sting, throw him on the Rockโs body and repaint that. Would it be perfect? No. Would it be better than a repainted rerelease just 4-5 series into the line? YES!

Got my set the other day. It is the first series I am really disappointed about. 1.) Goldberg is a joke. If there ever is an appropriate use for the "word" "worsest" it must be for this figure. ๐๐ป๐๐ป 2.) Dean Ambrose is pretty close to him in my eyes. The pants are totally wrong as he wears skinny jeans and no Hardy style pants. His upper body has no shirt sculpt and is cast in white with painted on skin. All in all this figure has written cost cutting and keep it cheap all over it. ๐๐ป 3.) Seth Rollins is solid, but the second jumper out of for. No tattoos, not really any prints on his tights. If they would at least introduce a secobd set of arms for the jumper... 4.) AJ Style is the clear winner of the set.๐๐ป I think Ambrose is the worst. Way to big. The guy has zero build in real life. I popped a Luke harper head on it and I think it looks better.
