It's the end of an era. 2018 will be the last year for the tour. It's unfortunate, this tour helped launched the careers of Blink 182, New Found Glory, Eminem and Katy Perry, among MANY others. They also helped introduce lucha libre to the world when they brought AAA on tour.
2019 would have been the tour's 25th anniversary.

2018 is the final cross-country iteration, they'll probably do something like Lollapalooza where it used to be a traveling tour and now is just a yearly Chicago festival (with all the international versions.) In his send-off message, Kevin Lyman did say they're going to do something for the 25th anniversary - "The enduring spirit of the Vans Warped Tour remains as bright as ever, continuing to inspire creativity and ambition in new and exciting ways as we prepare for a 25th anniversary celebration in 2019." -- vanswarpedtour.com/2017/finaltour/Though to be frank, it's probably my own ignorance, but I haven't heard much hype around Warped Tour since 2002-2003, these days the big hype surrounds Coachella. I was surprised to find out that the first year had Quicksand, didn't realize it started in '95.

Well glad I went a few years back. I got to meet MC Chris which was pretty awesome.

I attended the tour for many years growing up, but stopped going about 4 years ago. I had a ton of fun and looked forward to it every summer.
With that being said, it became a bit of a breeding ground for some pretty gross stuff in its latter years. Way too many bands being accused of sexual assault/misconduct, and Kevin Lyman became way too quick to defend and/or dismiss the claims. I lost a lot of respect for him after the way he handled a bunch of situations leading into, and throughout the course of the 2015 tour.
It's a shame that a lot of these up-and-coming bands won't have this outlet to get their name out anymore, though.

I went to a handful of these over the years. I went in 97,98, and 03. I missed NOFX because they never played the Warped dates I attended during those years and because of this, they are one of the few punk bands that rose in the 90s that I never saw live. I'm sure teenagers have something to go to now a days, I wasn't a teen back when I went but I know it was geared toward the younger crowd. They had a good run. I honestly thought it would have ended by now.

If the final line up is good, I’ll have to check it out. Hopefully a best of type of thing.

I usually go in there are a decent amount of bands I like. Hopefully the final lineup will be solid enough for me to want to go.
