Even though I hate what Mattel has done to the basic line, I hope hasbro doesn’t buy them out, because who knows what will happen to the WWE line. Because they have a contract with Mattel for like 4 or 5 more years, and who know if Hasbro wants to even commit to that line.
I’d rather things stay the same just to have consistency, for better or for worse.

Its almost like Bill is trying to give us his all before Hasbro takes over.

What if Hasbro is just trying to take over to destroy the retro line. :I
But really imagine Hasbro taking over, And out comes the original Hasbro packaging and figures and orange card series just starts showing up.

For anyone who didn’t click the link, here’s a quote.
“In saying no to Hasbro, Mattel is trying to drive a harder bargain, according to Reuters.”
This was just round one.

From what I've read it's one of the best selling action figure lines out there.

hopefully they keep the same scale/look as the mattel figures if this goes through it took me 8 years to switch from Jakks to Mattel, it would probably take another 8 to switch from Mattel to hasbro lol

MAttel may not do articulation but their paint apps are stellar. Hasbro does poor paints, almost always.
This is bad news, especially the way the news article spun it. It seems they expect Mattel to be sell outs, which they are, as they seem not to care about their DC line.

This is the direct coverage on the story. "The terms Hasbro has proposed could not be learned, and it is not clear whether negotiations between the two companies will continue." It could be that a) Mattel has no interest in being acquired and/or b) Hasbro threw out a lowball offer hoping that they would take the bait. Even if negotiations moved forward, this would likely be a long negotiation that would probably have some serious anti-trust hurdles to clear. We're a long, long way from Hasbro absorbing the WWE license.

It's not really bills fought for mattel woes. The higher brass needs to be cleaned out for there incompetence.

As much as I’d like to see WWE figures similar to how Hasbro has done their Marvel Legends line, I hope this sale doesn’t go through. I have already made the commitment to myself that this is my last full run at wrestling figures. I would probably pick up any future HBK, HHH & Hitman but I can’t do another full restart. I just don’t have it in me anymore.

Jakks UFC is selling so well, Hasbro needs to buy Mattel in order to compete.

Hasbro has nothing compared to Mattel. I hope they don’t sell out to Hasbro.

Hasbro would just "absorb" Mattel's business, they wouldn't just cancel all their toy lines and make their own versions.
This literally doesn't affect the WWE figure line/license in any way. If anything it might make things better. Hasbro is a US based company same as Mattel, but Mattel's HQ is on the west coast, while Hasbro's is here on the east. It would more be like they acquire all licensing that Mattel has (WWE, Barbie, etc) and have a west & east presence.
They aren't going to buy Mattel and turn the WWE line into nothing but "retros", smh. To be honest, Hasbro is a better run company, and they have even MORE appeal to kids/families than Mattel. It's right up Vince's alley. And it's not like Hasbro doesn't have any experience in a 6" figure line. I see nothing but good from this move. And hopefully if it happens they keep Bill around in his current position because it's clear he absolutely is the right guy for the job.

I’m sure if Hasbro did buy Mattel, all the lines would be resumed and would have a bigger budget as well. They’d definitely keep the WWE line running as it was the best selling toy line last year. Bill would still probably be designing the figures too.
