Seeing Hasbro buying Mattel is just so weird. I realize that Hasbro is older then Mattel but Mattel to me has always been "THE" toy company...Its like NWA/WCW buying WWF

I mean, as long as everything stays the same, I'm alright with it. They might even have a bigger budget so who knows? Though I can tell you this, if the WWE line gets a restart; I'm done collecting.

If hasbro bought mattel, it woulld still probably be mattel. Just under the umbrella of hasbro. Business would most likely continue as usual

I think we might a few changes here and there, but if they do go with the purchase I don't see them really restarting the line. It goes with that saying if it's not broken why fix it? The line has been successful, it'll probably just be like marvel and Disney. However, I just hope it doesn't mean that they'll use the plastic on marvel legends. I bought a few of those figures and had to sell them because they felt incredibly cheap and had a lot of loose joints.

What if Hasbro is just trying to take over to destroy the retro line. :I But really imagine Hasbro taking over, And out comes the original Hasbro packaging and figures and orange card series just starts showing up. Well it's not is it. A year ago Mattel were a bigger company. Not opinion, validated on Bloomberg, Reuters and anywhere else you can get a share price.

They wouldn't make new moulds, or new methods.
Merging is a cost saving exercise, and amalgamation of synergies between two businesses.
It's not an exercise to increase budgets and blow their load, in what is a trying time for all retail companies.

Hasbro would just "absorb" Mattel's business, they wouldn't just cancel all their toy lines and make their own versions. This literally doesn't affect the WWE figure line/license in any way. If anything it might make things better. Hasbro is a US based company same as Mattel, but Mattel's HQ is on the west coast, while Hasbro's is here on the east. It would more be like they acquire all licensing that Mattel has (WWE, Barbie, etc) and have a west & east presence. They aren't going to buy Mattel and turn the WWE line into nothing but "retros", smh. To be honest, Hasbro is a better run company, and they have even MORE appeal to kids/families than Mattel. It's right up Vince's alley. And it's not like Hasbro doesn't have any experience in a 6" figure line. I see nothing but good from this move. And hopefully if it happens they keep Bill around in his current position because it's clear he absolutely is the right guy for the job. /thread 👍🏻

Plus, in my area at least, Hasbro's distribution is leagues beyond Mattel's. I think I've missed maybe ONE wave of Black Series in it's entire run and I've never missed a Legends wave. Mattel is a completely different story. Hell, my Wal-Mart just got restocked with an entire endcap of Nasty Boys and Adam Rose/Bunnys and I haven't seen the last two or three waves of Multiverse figures.

MAttel may not do articulation but their paint apps are stellar. Hasbro does poor paints, almost always. I think this whole Jimmy Uso business refutes this. Besides, most Mattel figures are mostly unpainted dudes in trunks.

amalgamation of synergies between two businesses. Im sure everyone is nodding in agreement. As for Hasbro, I stopped collecting Star Wars the black series because they looked and felt incredibly cheap. Mattel all day long for me.

Love how two people have once again managed to base hasbros distribution around their local store somehow being the centre of the universe.
Production of The Black series is a well known cluster *uck.
I’m still waiting for wave 2 of 40th figs, and I pre ordered them 5 months ago.
Time after time a figure is delayed a wave, latest being Jaina Solo.
They are as much of a shambles as Mattel here

I’m not even sure as to why Mattel would want to be absorbed by Hasbro. Sure Hasbro is worth more but Mattel is doing just fine. Also I don’t think Hasbro would buy Mattel just to clean house and change everything. There’s a reason why Hasbro wants Mattel and it’s more likely how they do business

They are as much of a shambles as Mattel here I was basing mine off of two different places over the last five years: Southwest Virginia and Miami, FL (not to mention any number of places in between during my travels). Are these two places indicitive of the entire distribution model? No. However, between those two VERY different places, my statement stands. I've never had any problem with Black Series or Legends, while I've had multiple problems with Mattel stuff. Based on MY experience, I'd rather have Hasbro's distribution over Mattel's. The experience of others may differ. I never presented my ideas as anything other than my experience.
