I'm a huge Bret Hart fan, but after reading his books, listening to countless interviews and shoots from him or about him, he takes the cake for the biggest ego in wrestling. He was an amazing wrestler, one of the best. He told stories like no other. But the man outside of the ring is my target here. He only worried about protecting himself and staying on top. Having an ego =/= 'wishing the business was real'. I can't tell if you're trollin...

Why would they want it to be real? I don’t really understand

the business part of wrestling is the realest thing about it. the money is real, the competition to be on top is real, etc.
i don’t think anyone wishes pro wrestling was real in terms of the inring work.

I feel like Brock falls into this category too. He's got a huge ego and he's a monster IRL.

I guess we could ask Vic Grimes about the time New Jack made things real.

I would think the legit tough guys would want the sport to be real so they could claim higher prizes and more money than they did. Dan Severn for example. If Wrestling were real I don't picture anyone ever beating him. Maybe Brock/Kurt. But Brock and Kurt have done good with wrestling being predetermined. Of it was real Angle would have lost to Daniel Puder (in a squash none the less) so I think he's super glad its predetermined

But if it were real don't you think Kurt would have had a mentality to go in and shoot rather than just defend?

I guess we could ask Vic Grimes about the time New Jack made things real. while we're at it, we should ask Gypsy Joe too if he's still alive.

Not a wrestler, but the first name I thought of.
