Hey everyone! So as some of you know, I run a YouTube channel called Wrestling Figure Legacy. I basically cover wrestling figure history and sometimes look at Ringside exclusives and blind box stuff in between. I wanted to do a little something different, so I came up with the idea to create Elite Mattel fantasy sets based on famous eras of wrestling, complete with a packaging motif related to the time period in some way. This first video is about The Golden Era, which more or less is the mid-to-late 80s through the early 90s. I created a set of figures borrowing from the Hall of Fame format of 4 per set, with a wave of 2-packs (and something bonus!). I have a few different eras planned for 2018, but I'm all for making a Series 2 of Golden Era if this is well-received.

My goodness. You should be designing figures for Mattel.

I'd buy every one of these. Good job. You should work at Mattel.

Awesome stuff once again. Love seeing one of your vids in my feed. Can I ask a nitpicky question though? Why did you reverse Macho's attire?

I like the idea and the choices you made, we need more Heel Roddy Piper - he had some pretty cool shirts during that run before he settled on the classic Hotrod t-shirt. I also like the Ultimate Warrior vs Rick Rude from summer slam 1989 (by the way, if anyone is wondering because they haven't seen it, this is probably Warriors 2nd or 3rd greatest match behind WM 7 and WM 6). Rick Rude and Ultimate Warrior both had a lot of colorful looks throughout their careers there should be no reason why we are getting re-releases of them. The same with Randy Savage, he had so many colorful looks - especially during the time you reference in your video 1990-1992, we should be getting a lot of Randy Savage's in new attires instead of re-releases like his basic #76. I also like the addition of Greg the Hammer Valentine, Mattel needs to make at least one figure for him.
The other thing that I liked about your video was the idea of packaging designs that go with certain eras (Pre-WWF, Golden Age 1984-1992, New Generation, Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression Era, PG Era). I really like the idea of having one packaging design for each era.

First of all, great channel, I subscribed.
Second, I like the idea of having different eras as a separate line with unique packaging. I particularly enjoyed the mix of the 80s starfield with the 90s neon and the chrome text mimicking the WWF logo of the time. I can't wait to see what other designs you have in mind when you cover the other eras and their design motifs.
Third, I like the lineup you made up, more specifically Greg Valentine and Iron Sheik. I love how you decided to use Macho's E23 scan which I agree is underused and giving Jimmy Hart a general attire is a good move. The two packs are all fantastic (I love how you included Matilda with the Bulldogs) and that Epic Moments Piper's Pit would be a definite buy from me no questions asked.
I look forward to seeing what else you come up with as you managed to capture the essence of the Golden Era in one wave though I'd imagine a second wave would be done for more characters.

Oh.My.God. Bill should read this thread. I would buy multiple Bulldogs, Valentine, Heel Roddy Piper, Greg Valentine, Jimmy Snuka and Summerslam '92 Macho Man. You basically created all of my top dream figures.

Absolutely perfect! I’d buy all of those.
I’d love the pipers pit backdrop with heel piper and a barefoot Snuka. The Rude/warrior pack would be terrific!, I agree we need a puffy hair Rick Rude and I hope we get the yellow and black boots in his next release. I don’t know what the hold up on the classic bulldogs being released is but let’s get going on those.
Only gripe is we have two elite sheiks let’s get an updated volkoff already.
Otherwise great job. 👍

I saw this last night! Very very cool video. I can’t wait to see more! The packaging would pop on shelves. And actually...as much as y’all know I HATE the mass Savages and Warriors we have...I’d actually dig that Savage. Really sleek attire caught my eye!

Has anyone asked Bill specifically about Dynamite Kid? Is he on the WWE black list?

That was one of his best. Would like to see that made: Along with some of these: But my favorite from his WWF run was the Grim Reaper tights he wore in his feud with Roddy Piper: would also like to see some WCW Rick Rude's as well:
