August 22nd, 2016 - Barclays Center - Brooklyn, New York Twenty fours following the memorable Summerslam pay-per-view, we return to Monday Night Raw, live from Brooklyn in the Barclays Center. The most talked about man on social media, as of right now, Finn Balor, kicked off the show, holding the Universal title over his shoulder. "The Demon King" wanted to take the time to welcome the fans to Monday Night Raw and telling by their reaction, there is still a ton of heat on Finn Balor. "I know you all are mad at what I did, last night, but you have to start, I had to anything to win, even if that meant getting my hands a little bit dirty. But I got to be honest with you, at the time, I did feel sorry for Seth Rollins but now, I don't feel no remorse for what I did because I now have something that means a lot to me: the WWE Universal Championship!" Finn raises the title belt in the air and the fans boo at him and Finn goes on to mention on how nobody believed that he'd be the man to become the first ever WWE Universal Champion, how nobody thought he'd beat Seth Rollins, or how nobody thought he was even ready for a task like this. He proved them wrong. He proved each and every single person that doubted him wrong. "And I couldn't do this all by myself, though. Allow me to introduce these two men who helped me in achieving one of my goals on the main roster, Ladies and Gentleman, give it up for Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows!" After that, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson's theme music blared throughout the Barclays Center as the two walked out from the back, clapping their hands, smiling and pointing at Finn. They enter the ring and all three men 'two sweet' each other and hug Finn after. Karl said that it was a true honor aiding Finn Balor on his win, last night, over Seth Rollins and both men thought it felt good that all three were finally reunited again. "You know Finn, we've been dreaming of this for a long time, ever since you left Japan. Now it's finally happened, 'the club' is back in business!" shouts Gallows and gets a mixed reaction from the fans. Balor shakes his head and smiles, but also corrects Luke Gallows. "You're right Luke, but, we're not just 'the club', we're more than that. We are.. The Balor Club!" Once again, The Balor Club were ready to 'two sweet' each other once again before they cut off!
The music of Seth Rollins had the crowd on their feet as they cheered for "The Architect". Rollins has a microphone in his hand as he stepped out from the back. Seth said that he was shocked over what happened, when it looked like he was going to win, Finn did the unthinkable and low-blow'd him. "Last night, you did indeed beat me, but we all know, you can't beat me clean." Seth said that he needed Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows to help him win, if it wasn't for them, he wouldn't be standing there as the Universal Champion. "That's why I want another match with you Finn. I want another shot at the Universal title." Finn chuckles and questions Seth, asking him if he really thinks he can't beat him without the 'help'. Finn Balor says there's nothing left to prove to these people, so therefore, he declines Seth's challenge. "You know, I was hoping you'd take the easy way out and accept my challenge but, I guess it'll take more than." That's when Seth takes a moment to take off his shirt, tossing it to the side and begins to march down towards the ring and half way there, he is stopped by Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Jeri-KO step out from the back with microphones and Y2J mentions how the only man who deserves a shot at the WWE Universal Championship is "The Prizefigher" Kevin Owens! KO takes the microphone and talks to Seth, saying, "Seth, you had your chance, you blew it. It doesn't matter if it was a clean win or not, you still lost your match so how about you step back in line and wait your turn, alright?" Seth looks back at the two and tell them that if anyone deserves a shot, it should be given to him, and this where Stephanie McMahon is brought out. Stephanie says that she does believe that Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho deserve a shot, but also agrees on how Seth Rollins should get a rematch for the Universal title but Stephanie already has an idea for that. "Next week on Monday Night Raw, a fatal four-way will take place and the winner of the match will face Finn Balor at the upcoming Raw exclusive pay-per-view, Clash of Champions. The first two confirmed participants in the match are Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens and over the course of the show, there will be two matches to determine the final two members of the fatal four-way." Stephanie also informs all six men that they will be in action, in the main event of tonight's show. It will be The Balor Club taking on the team of Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho and "The Architect" Seth Rollins!
Stephanie smiles as her theme picks back up and Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho both look disappointed and happy, Seth has his focus on Finn, taunting at him. The Universal Champion raises the belt and points at his two potential Clash of Champions opponent before the segment finally ends.
Later tonight, we will hear from Roman Reigns.
Jack Swagger defeated Curtis Axel by submission when Jack Swagger locked in the Patriot Lock on Curtis Axel, forcing his opponent to tap out. Swagger stood over Curtis Axel's body, again, shouting, "We the people!" with the fans before exiting the ring.
Next week, Paul Heyman will be on Monday Night Raw as we find out what's next for "The Beast Incarnate", following his Summerslam win over "The Viper" Randy Orton.
Backstage, Tom Phillips shown standing with the newly crowned WWE Women's Champion, Charlotte, who looks happier than ever. Tom wants to know how did it feel defeating Sasha Banks, last night, and becoming the new Women's Champion and Charlotte says it felt extraordinary. "You know, Sasha should've never thought she had the chance of beating me when she knows I am better than her. I proved that last night that I am the superior one and I also proved that I am the new bo-" Sasha Banks interrupts and looks at Charlotte then to the WWE Women's title. "Don't worry Charlotte, that belt won't be yours for long because incase you didn't know, I still have a rematch clause for that title and I already know the perfect place for our match to be: Clash of Champions." Sasha tells Charlotte to be ready because "The Boss" will definitely be on her A-game and won't be holding anything back.
Nia Jax defeated Summer Rae by pinfall when Nia Jax nailed her deadly Leg Drop on Summer Rae to pick up the win.
When Monday Night Raw returns from commercial break, Sami Zayn will be in action to determine who will become the third man in the fatal four-way match, taking place, next week.
Sami Zayn defeated Titus O'Neil by pinfall after Sami Zayn nailed Titus with a Helluva Kick. Sami Zayn celebrates after the match and with the fans and the camera shows Kevin Owens watching backstage and he becomes angry. Chris Jericho walks up to him and asks him what's wrong and Kevin squints at him, perplexed. "What do you mean 'what's wrong?', wanna' know what's wrong, Sami Zayn is also in that fatal four-way match, next week! Not only do I have to try and beat Seth Rollins, I also gotta' have to beat frickin' Sami Zayn?!" Jericho tells him to calm down and pulls him in for a hug and slowly caresses his head, telling KO that everything is going to be alright.
Roman Reigns' theme plays and Roman walks out, getting the loudest ovation from the fans. "The Big Dog" marches down the ramp and makes a sudden stop, smiling, as he listens to the fans booing him. Roman enters the ring and takes a mic from the ringside official and waits for the fans to finally simmer down before speaking. "What's up Brooklyn?" Roman doesn't get the response he was hoping for but gets a mixed reaction from the crowd and shrugs. "Hey at least that one wasn't just straight boo's." After this, the fans boo Roman again and he laughs, continuing on with the promo. Roman Reigns said that last night, he was supposed to face Rusev for the WWE United States Champion but sadly, the match was delayed. Reigns cracks a joke, saying that he must've beaten Rusev so bad that he couldn't even compete and starts laughing. "But, you know, Rusev won't be gone forever, and Rusev, when you're back, I hope you know that the WWE United States title will be mine, when I finally beat you." Roman was about to finish it off with 'believe that' but didn't get the chance as he was attacked from behind by none other than, Rusev! "The Bulgarian Brute" shocked the crowd as everyone thought he was injured and Rusev continues to stomp on Roman. "The Big Dog" fights back against the United States Champion and when going for the Superman Punch, Rusev knocks him down with a devastating kick to the jaw! Roman drops to the mat and Rusev stands over him before locking him in The Accolade, keeping the hold locked on tight until Roman eventually passes out!
Rusev releases the submission and stands back up, placing his foot on-top of Roman and taunting. "Thank you Rusev" was chanted out loud by the fans and Rusev shouted out in Bulgarian at the fans before the segment ended.
Up next, a ten men battle royal will take place and the winner will become the fourth man to enter the fatal four-way match.
Darren Young defeated Bo Dallas, Goldust, R-Truth, Big Cass, Big Show, Sin Cara, Epico, Neville and Primo in a battle royal. Post-match, Darren hopped up and down, shocked at what he has done! Bob Backlund joins him in the ring and the two raise each other's arm. Darren Young will join Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in the fatal four-way, next week, to determine who will face Finn Balor at Clash of Champions.
Braun Strowman defeated local talent by pinfall. Braun Strowman picked his opponent back up and repeatedly tossed him around like dead weight. As he was about to to pick him back up, he quickly dropped him when the music of Mark Henry echoed throughout the arena. "The World's Strongest Man" stomped his way down the ramp and climbed up the apron, staring Braun down and as he entered the ring, Braun backed up into the ropes. Braun exited the ring and Mark Henry nods at him and the two don't takes eyes off each other as Braun Strowman retreats up the ramp.
The Balor Club are backstage, preparing for the big main event, tonight. "Listen boys, let's not underestimate our opponents tonight, but, it'll be an easy win of course. It won't be long until Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho ditch Seth Rollins and leave him to us." Before they leave the locker room, they hit one last 'two sweet' and exited the room.
Balor Club (Finn Balor, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) defeated Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho by pinfall. When Seth Rollins needed help the most, Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho were nowhere to be found, which was the reason why they lost. Rollins was a victim of an assault by The Balor Club as they all got their licks in. Half way through, Darren Young made a B-line to the ring, sliding in and went right after Karl Anderson, tackling him to the ground. Luke pulled him off and the two beat him down in the corner as Balor watched but that's when Sami Zayn emerged from the back, running down and slid inside, leaping onto Gallows. Balor pulls him off and the two trade hands but Balor got the upper hand until Kevin pushed him to the side and traded fists with Sami. That's where Finn shoved Kevin to the side and the two got in each other's face and Chris had to pull them apart. Jericho had Kevin stand by the other side of the ring as he turned around, he eats a Pele Kick from the WWE Universal Champion. Kevin Owens charges at Finn Balor, who rolls out of the ring, quickly escaping, and backs away from the ropes. "The Prizefighter" returned to the action and as Darren Young bolted at him, he took him down with a thunderous Pop-Up Powerbomb!
Young rolls out of the ring as Kevin watches and Kevin pulls Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows off of Sami and gets into a fight with the both of them! Zayn reaches his feet and tosses Luke Gallows over board as Kevin Owens sent Karl Anderson out through the ring ropes. The two men turned around and had an intense stare down as a "This is awesome" chant picked up! Next week, Sami Zayn and Kevin Ownes will meet, along with Seth Rollins and Darren Young, and the winner will face Finn Balor at Clash of Champions. The question is, who will it be? Raw goes off the air.

August 23rd, 2016 - Barclays Center - Brooklyn, New York Smackdown Live, this week, kicked off with the man who defeated John Cena at Summerslam, AJ Styles. "The Phenomenal One" welcomed the fans to Smackdown Live before he recapped his victory over "The Face That Runs The Place". He went on to say that it was one of the best matches in his entire wrestling career and thanks Cena. AJ moves on to the next chapter of his career and makes it known that he believes a WWE title shot should be in his favor after his win and even challenges "The Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose to a title match. Moments later, he's interrupted by Dolph Ziggler, who thought he needed a second chance to prove himself to Dean Ambrose and everyone else. "Listen Dolph, you already had countless shots, maybe it's time for you realize that you're just not that good and stop trying to prove yourself." says AJ Styles to Dolph. The fans oh'd at Styles' comment and Dolph responded, "Maybe you're right AJ or maybe you're wrong, because deep down inside, I know I could beat Dean Ambrose, I know I could beat the WWE Champion! And you know what else I know? I could beat you." AJ Styles looked shocked and steps up to Ziggler, face-to-face, and things start to get tense between the two and Styles questions Dolph, asking if he really thinks he could beat him. Before this could escalate, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon came out from the back, and head inside the ring and force the two men to separate from each other. Shane McMahon got a microphone for him and Daniel and informed the two that they both may have to wait for a shot because he has something planned for the WWE Championship. Daniel Bryan says, "There's countless of other men in the back who believe they deserve a shot too and we took that into reconsideration and Shane and I came up with something that involves everyone." Daniel went on to mention how Smackdown Live is the "land of opportunity" and stated it was time to give an opportunity for eight men to prove that they should be the only contender for the WWE title. "That's right folks because right here, right now, Daniel Bryan and I are announcing the return of King of the Ring!" exclaimed Shane McMahon. The fans cheer after the announcement and both Dolph Ziggler and AJ Styles nod. Daniel Bryan states, "Now the question is, 'who's in the tournament?' and I'll be happy to answer because the first two men participating in the King of the Ring tournament will be "The Phenomenal One" AJ Styles and "The Show Off" Dolph Ziggler!" and both men taunt at each other. Shane McMahon adds on and says the other six men will be determined by qualifying matches and they hope this tournament will lead them all the way to the next upcoming, Smackdown exclusive pay-per-view, Backlash. As Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon step back, Ziggler steps up to AJ and extends his hand out. Styles sizes Dolph before extending his hand and shaking it before pulling him close, staring him down! Off mic, AJ says, "We will meet again." before letting go and walking past Ziggler, bumping into him on purpose, leaving the ring. 1. American Alpha defeated The Ascension by pinfall when Jason Jordan aided Chad Gable in hitting the Grand Amplitude on Viktor. Post match, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan celebrated their win over their tag team opponents. 2. King of the Ring Tournament Qualifier: Kalisto defeated Apollo Crews by pinfall after nailing Apollo with the Solida Del Sol maneuver to pick up the victory. It seemed as if Apollo was distracted because just this past Sunday, Apollo failed to defeat The Miz for the Intercontinental title and faces another loss in "The Lucha Dragon". When Kalisto wanted a hand shake, Apollo hesitated in shaking his hand but at the end, they showed each other good sportsmanship for exiting the ring together. Backstage, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan were discussing things in their office until they were stopped by a sudden knock on the door. Moments later, Breezango entered the room, to complain. Fandago thinks that both him and Tyler Breeze should be apart of the King of the Ring tournament because they're the only men on the blue brand capable of beating Dean Ambrose and becoming WWE Champion. Daniel Bryan says, "I'm sure you could beat Dean Ambrose but we already have something planned for, not just you, but the entire tag team division." Shane reveals that they've decided to bring in a tag team title belt, for the Smackdown brand, due to the fact that Smackdown was lacking in titles. Tyler Breeze says, "It's about time Shane, so where's our belts at, exactly?" and Daniel Bryan chuckles, telling Breeze that the belts won't be 'handed' to them and that they had to fight for them."And that's why I'm also announcing a big tag team tournament to crown Smackdown's first ever tag team champions." says Daniel Bryan, who informs them that their opponents were the men they competed with and against at Summerslam. Daniel says the tournament will begin next week and tells Breezango to prepare.
3. King of the Ring Tournament Qualifier: Kane defeated Rhino by pin fall after a thunderous Chokeslam stopped him from hitting a Gore. Kane is now the fourth participant in the King of the Ring tournament, joining Kalisto, AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler.
4. Summerslam Rematch Six-Women-Tag Team Match: Becky Lynch, Naomi and Carmella versus Nikki Bella, Alexa Bliss and Natalya ended in No Contest as a brawl broke out in the ring. As all six women brawled with each other, officials came out to separate the two teams.
Daniel Bryan joined the ring and got straight to business, saying he has good news for all six. He says, "Moments ago, I announced the creation of the Smackdown Tag Team Championships and here I am, back out here to make my next announcement and that's to tell you all that Shane and I have decided to make the Smackdown Women's Championship!" Daniel says that the six Women in this ring will compete in a match, eliminations only, and the last Women standing will become the first ever Smackdown Women's Champion.
WWE Intercontinental Champion, The Miz, came down to the ring, alongside Maryse, to boast about his win over Apollo Crews, last night. Miz goes on to say that he knew that Apollo wasn't worthy enough from the start and proved it at Summerslam and states, "There is absolutely nobody, and I mean nobody, on this roster that can take this title away from me!" Miz hoists the belt in the air, taunting, and is then interrupted by.. the returning Shelton Benjamin! "The Gold Standard" has returned to the WWE and makes it known that he's after The Miz' Intercontinental title.
"Are you joking Benjamin? You out of all people think that you can beat me? Things have changed, Benjamin, and if you haven't noticed, I'm the man around he-" said The Miz who ended up getting Superkicked off of his feet by Shelton Benjamin! He attempted the T-Bone Suplex but Miz managed to escape and fled with the title up the stage with Maryse. "The Gold Standard" is back!
5. King of the Ring Tournament Qualifier: Bray Wyatt defeated Erick Rowan by pinfall with the Sister Abigail. Post match, Wyatt stood over Rowan, taunting as Wyatt is now officially in the King of the Ring tournament.
Baron Corbin waited in the ring for his opponent, who was revealed to be "The Viper" Randy Orton.
6. King of the Ring Tournament Qualifier: Randy Orton defeated Baron Corbin by pinfall after reversing the End of Days and nailing Corbin with an RKO. Post match, Orton celebrated on the turnbuckles, scoring a win over Corbin and entering the King of the Ring tournament.
7. Non Title Match: Dean Ambrose defeated Erick Rowan by pinfall with the Dirty Deeds. Ambrose got back up, holding the WWE Championship in his hand and taunted. As he taunts, the music of AJ Styles stops his celebration and "The Phenomenal One" and "The Lunatic Fringe" stand off with each other. Following AJ is "The Show Off" Dolph Ziggler who joins the ring and all three men stare at one another before Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Kane and Kalisto join the fray.
A huge brawl broke out between all men in the King of the Ring tournament, with Kalisto getting hit with a Chokeslam by Kane, Randy Orton dropping Bray Wyatt with an RKO from out of nowhere, then also hitting Kane with an RKO. After that, Orton was caught off-guard from an attack by Baron Corbin, who stuck around. Corbin managed to finally hit Randy Orton with the End of Days before exiting the ring and inide, it was down to Ziggler and Styles, with Ambrose watching from outside. AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler taunt at each other before taunting at Dean Ambrose. While Ziggler was taunting, Styles threw the first punch and then Ziggler, and as Ziggler went for another, Styles countered and nailed him with a Pele Kick! "The Phenomenal One" got back up, grabbing Dolph by the head, going for the Styles Clash, only for Ambrose to slide in, turn Styles around and hit the Dirty Deeds on him and flee! Smackdown Live ended with Dean Ambrose standing on top of the ramp with the title with bodies laying around in the ring.
