They could possibly squeeze some more matches out of the Maharaja feud, but, once AJ's finished with Jinder, who will be his next foe? Of course, much depends on AJ retaining the title.
Who will follow for fights with the Phenomenal One as we approach the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania season?
Rusev could be a nice fit.

I’m still unsure how the match is going to go. Regardless I think Cena vs Jinder and AJ vs Orton are likely for Wrestlemania. I know everyone thinks Nakamura is a lock for AJ, but I think a heel Orton is the safer bet.

I really want Shinsuke but I can't say no to a heel Orton vs baby face AJ. Thats like a match I've been wanting since like 2005 lol. And I'm sure a lot of ppl on here want that too.

I have zero interest in aj carrying resthold Randall for thirty minutes.
I also have zero interest in jinder winning the title back.

once you type up the whole mens single division roster, I realize that there is only one word to describe this side of smackdown...you know the rest

I think AJ is losing the title to Jinder so Jinder can lose it to Cena.

Randy Orton should be AJ's next opponent

We want Shinsuke at Mania, but knowing Vince we will get Orton, cause he believes Shinsuke/AJ will not draw as much as Orton/AJ.

I love how Sin Cara is on this list.

Why's Orton so high? He doesn't belong in the title picture in 2018. I'd say Nakamura or KO.

I want this to happen: I think AJ is losing the title to Jinder so Jinder can lose it to Cena. But if it doesn’t, I’ll take this: Randy Orton should be AJ's next opponent A motivated Orton puts on great matches and there’s no doubt AJ could get one out of him. And also for this reason: I really want Shinsuke but I can't say no to a heel Orton vs baby face AJ. Thats like a match I've been wanting since like 2005 lol. And I'm sure a lot of ppl on here want that too. And then eventually, AJ vs. Nakamura at WrestleMania even if it isn’t for the title.

Rusev and AJ would be a cool feud but they would need to build Rusev up first. Plus he seems to be in the tag division for now. I would think Owens and Zayn are the likely next step.

Orton seems so unmotivated currently, so a heel turn and a feud with AJ could do him wonders.
I think we might get AJ vs Nakamura at WM. But SD needs to rebuild Nakamura up more first. He's been misused the last few months.
But I also would like to see either Samoa Joe or Finn Balor traded to SD after WM. Keep AJ on SD and give him talent that can work well with him.

I would think they would wait until after the Rumble to start AJ / Shinsuke. Obviously Jinder is taking the title back and he will be the champion going into mania.

HA!
You are overlooking one very strong factor here.... that being that Jinder will once again win the WWE Title come this Sunday!

It would make zero sense for them to put the title back on Jinder this weekend, given that they didn't even put him over in India, and we now know, without any question, that the entire experiment was a colossal failure. The last several weeks of TV have felt like WWE treading water, just waiting to get out of this mess and move AJ on to something else.
Of course, I wouldn't put it past them to make such a horrendous decision (the fact that they ever did it to begin with says it all), but I don't expect it at this point.
There's really no one for AJ to face right now. There's also no one for Jinder to face.

I’d rather have AJ/Orton than AJ/Nakamura. Shinsuke lost all his luster for me after that pointless Jinder feud. Really, didn’t have any other faces to have Jinder go over?

I could see them building to AJ/Owens or AJ/Nakamura at WM34, but in the time between now and Mania, I could see them putting Styles up against Orton or Sami to build his credibility up as a babyface champ.
