Hi Guys,
During this festive period, i've tried everything to bring myself up to speed with the last 5 years of wrestling fig history.
Has been a pleasure to go through C Wrestling's youtube channel and watch his reviews and toy hunts - brilliant dedication.
And then I came across Wrestling Daze's channel and was literally blown away!! Such a passionate fan, who really enjoys what he does and brings everyone along on his wrestling fan/figure journey.
My question is, how does he (and others like him) ever find the time and money to keep up with all this? Making VDOs isn't a quick thing and toy hunts are very time consuming (can speak from experience this XMas). Collecting is almost like a full-time job itself, but you need the dosh, time and space to continue doing and doing it well! And well...let's face it, if you're in a full time job - this stuff is next to impossible to do.
Inspirational work! Doing the UK proud for sure.
Your thoughts lads?

Idk if I should comment, or if it’s big headed.. but oh well!
For me personally doing youtube is a way to share my collection and showing not only the figures but enjoying collecting.
Instead of just ordering a figure online, receiving it, opening it and putting it on display to never be touched again (until dusting time lol) I get to order it, have a platform to tell other people, share thoughts on good & bad figures, share my hype for new figure reveals, review that figure, display the figure and the amount of awesome people I’ve met from doing youtube is truely the most amazing part that certainly wasn’t anticipated!

Thanks for replying - what you do is fantastic! But how do you find the time to do so much and the biggest question, how do you finance it? Reason i'm asking is because figs are just so damn expensive now. Especially Elites, DMs and other exclusives.

Honestly, sometimes it is hard financially But I’ve been collecting since 2001 so I’ve grown up spending money on figures and just think I’ve adapted.
I would always give the advice to shop around Sometimes when you look you can find online sellers are cheaper than retail Eg, Toysandmasks regularly have discount codes and when they are available they can bring figures lower than retail prices
Some people think “oh you do youtube for the ad revenue” Which is bull, I do YouTube as it’s a genuine way to share my collection Yes I get money from it, but it does not come close to fund figures lol, helps, but no lol
I find it relaxing to make a YouTube video, sometimes it can take 20 minutes - 1 hour and on occasion I can record 1/2/3 videos after each other as I know I won’t have time the next few days.
Ok... essay complete LOL

The prices of Elites alone put me off collecting any mattel figs.

Ofcourse
Mattel basics are really under rated, yes you lose some accessories and articulation, but if you’re looking to just display, basics can work as great filler in between the ‘must buy’ elites
I’ve been trying to think of a good analogy to describe why I enjoy YouTube and honestly i think it’s because when I was 11 at started buying figures (2001) I played with them, all the time. Obviously older now and don’t do that & I think youtube gives me a very similar enjoyment to that and a way to highlight figures etc
