The answer to this is that your Walmart sucks. I mean there's really no other way around it. There are thousands of Walmarts in the US. Some are going to suck. Now, my question to you and everyone that brings up how poor your Walmarts are is this: Are the pegs empty in JUST the WWE section? Are they stocking other toy lines? Because I keep hearing people talk about how bad their WWE sections are, but nobody ever brings up the stocking of Star Wars, TMNT, Marvel Legends, Transformers, Funko, etc. If nothing is getting stocked, then the manager needs to a visit from a DM, if it's just the WWE, then maybe it's a distribution issue. That's a hard question to ask since I'm not really looking for anything else. However I have been trying to get into the Star Wars line. No black series can be found and it looks like the other StarWars lines never change. The doll section is always stocked. Power rangers has little (and I only know that because it's next to the wwe section). Honestly it looks like the male toys are never stocked. The entire row where WWE sits is a wasteland. Every other aisle is pretty stocked. Ok fellas, I think we have two separate issues here: 1) Yes, resets are real, and they happen this time of year (not the issue). 2) I visited 17 different Walmarts during this holiday season (so the issue was not just one store). The other toy sections were well stocked, stuff running over at times. The WWE sections were mostly empty in the majority of the stores during the month of December. There is no way that Walmart/Mattel would plan to have empty sections during Christmas shopping time. There had to be a problem, at least in this area. Transformers, TMNT, Star Wars, Barbie, Nerf guns, etc. were all well stocked everywhere I went.

Guys, we go through this each year, and those of you who have been here longer than six months who think this isn't what's happening should stop adding fuel to the fire. Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, etc. go through floor resets all the time, usually in the winter around now and then in the summer. They get to a point where they stop putting product out and let the current inventory die down and sell off. They'll then restructure the toy isles with new product. Here are a few examples of past threads, take note of the thread dates. Note too that not everyone will have their stores reset at the same time, but they will happen throughout winter. And also note that WWE & Mattel are not going anywhere soon as their contract is until at least 2021. Feb. 26, 2012 - Resets Everywhere May 30, 2012 - Wal-Mart and Target ResetsJan 14, 2013 - Target Re-Reset Jan 21, 2013 - Store Resets and DropsJan 23, 2013 - Walmart reset done, re-stock coming... Jul 16, 2014 - Target resetsMar 6, 2015 - WWE resets at WM Aug 10, 2016 - Walmart Resets?Dec 28, 2016 - Target reset? Jan 6, 2017 - Target Reset 2017Jan 30, 2017 - Upcoming Walmart Reset/Macho NewsThanks and God bless. To add an addendum to my original post so that it will be seen, there are a few other things to take into consideration. A large majority of us currently have empty shelves due directly to a currently planned reset. There is no denying or saying otherwise, this is the absolute truth. For those of us that this effects, we will see empty shelves for the next few weeks and eventually the toy isles will be restructured with new products. Don't be surprised however if once the reset occurs you don't see your shelves look as stacked and packed to the brim as photos you may have seen from a Smyths from the U.K., this hasn't happened since Mattel was first brought to stores in 2010. For the remainder who won't be or feel they are not affected by the reset, the problem directly lies with your store's stocking and/or distribution. This is a little trickier because it affects several aspects of the store and the solution to this may require a lot of work, especially on your part. You have to realize first and foremost that Mattel's WWE line is not the only product in these stores, nor is it the most popular. We as a community here at WFigs feel it is because its important to us, but realize that in the grand scheme with these stores it is not. The first line of defense is the stock clerk or basic store employee, these people only do what they are told and generally only know the basics. If you ask a basic employee for more figures most likely they will make a half-assed attempt at getting in touch with someone in the back and saying there are no more, or talking to a stock clerk might result in being told there are none in back or that they're in back and can't be found. If they are in store and not on the shelves this is due to poor stock management in the back of the store or bad coordination to the floor. You can try to ask them to see if there is stock in back and pull it out to the floor, but your odds of success here will be low. The second line of defense is the department manager, if applicable. If your store has a department manager that directly oversees several or a specific department this is your next stop. They will generally care a little bit more and can help coordinate what is in back to what is on the floor. However, they will primarily care that the shelves are stocked and the isles look neat. To them, unless they are a WWE fan will not know the difference or care that the kids belt buckle and plush figures that don't sell and clog the pegs of my local Target are vastly different than full pegs of Elites, store exclusives, Basics, what have you. They will see the WWE logo and assume all is well most of the time. If you still have Hall of Fame Titos, they are your first stop in asking for them to be clearanced. The fact that the Legends series were marked down to several dollars within a year and that there are several year old Tito figures still at full price is amazing to me. Its not a foreign concept either. I see Star Wars Black Series figures marked down to clearance all the time. Rogue One figures were marked down to half off about 9 months after the movie because they weren't moving. Try to talk to your department manager and see if clearances can happen and changes can be made like I said, they don't know if a particular figure is a series old or 12 series old unless they check or know about it. Help inform them. The third line of defense is the store manager. If your store doesn't have a department manager or nothing is getting done then up the food chain you go. These people have a lot to worry about so if its a store like Wal-Mart they are just as concerned with lawn & leaf bags in autumn as they are with WWE figures. If you have product that is not moving that is preventing from stock being put out, then bring that to their attention and have them clearance items or send items back to the distributor or manufacturer. If there isn't new product being put out, then they need to know that there is a miscommunication with their stock room that is causing empty shelves and merchandise not being purchased. If there is not a problem with the stock room, then they are able to get in touch with the local distribution center. The fourth line of defense is the district manager. These guys are busy and they won't know the difference about the product, but they hate being bothered with customer complaints because there are several people in line before you get to them and the fact that those lines failed is a reflection on them or a reflection on their store managers and they want to correct it. You have to be polite and consistent with these people and explain to them that there is either old product not moving, old product not being put on clearance, product not being stocked, product not making it from the distribution centers, etc. If you really want to see something get done, talk to a district manager, especially if you have multiple stores in your area because they can help with all of those at once if its the same thing. That is your usual chain of command and what you can expect to face. To reiterate, these people don't know the difference between the Mattel WWE lines, so you have to be broad with them. If you have old product or product not moving, bring it to their attention and explain to them. If there is product not out, explain to them. Should the shelves be stocked more? Explain to them. And most importantly, outside of being consistent, be polite with these people. If you want to see changes in your stores, you will have to make an effort and repeated efforts at that, this will not be easy, but persistence is key. If you don't want to go that far and make a change, you can also participate in the thread started by Bill from Mattel - Post photos here of the Mattel WWE sections where you shop This thread is meant to show off the shelves of our stores to show how poor they're being stocked or problems facing our stores. If we really all made a conscious effort it really could be impressive to see how bad the stores are. Unfortunately, the thread died off and what was originally meant to only show off photos, people turned into commenting on other stores and kinda killed the momentum. Stay focused and show off your stores often to make an impact. And for this, its very important to remember that Bill is a member of Mattel's design team. He has as much to do with distribution as I do with running my own Guy Fieri themed restaurant. He is just trying to help bridge the gap since he has the possible means with the company he works for to show off the content he can get from us. Then, Now, Forever figures not showing up at your Wal-Mart? Don't tag Bill and ask him. Curious what attire a figure has? Tag Bill and ask him. Don't like E39 Sting or don't like Mattel using Excel spreadsheets? That's a discussion for another time. With all this being said, you can expect a reset or you can expect to do some homework on your part. If you don't feel like doing homework and want to complain that your stores are empty, then please utilize online shopping. Remember that Ringside specifically pays to have product early so you will seldom see current stuff Ringside has alongside product currently in stores. And there are online retailers like Toys R Us who are great about selling their store exclusive figures online, and stores like Target are OK to good about selling theirs. There is also the Figure Findings/Store Reports forum of this site which also has an *Official Online Findings* thread, or even the Classifieds. Use these resources from your WFigs brethren to your advantage. Merry New Year, I love you all.

Hero’s, I applaud you for explaining this in detail. Nice job. A large majority of us haven’t seen any stock in our nearest Walmart for the entire quarter and that appears to be the biggest issue. I have three Walmart stores around me within a 7 mile radius and none of them have had stock since late August. When I approached an associate (although I believe she was the dept. manager in which you speak), she essentially blamed collectors for the empty shelves. So the guys who wait for trucks at midnight keep taking all the stock before it even lands in the stockroom? And they do this in all three stores around me? And they go and do this in every state? And they’ve been doing it since August? Why aren’t they doing it to Target or TRU?
Now...I believe the associate was just making a boneheaded statement but my testimony mirrors that of a lot of members here on the board. We’ve never seen a reset start around Labor Day and continue on through the New Year. However, all is forgiven if I walk into ANY Walmart in the next few weeks and it’s stocked to the gills with elites and TNF.

I've checked about 7-10 Walmarts over my Holiday Travels (still searching for the elusive Miss Elizabeth TNF), was alarmed to find almost all of them completely sold out of all Mattel WWE Action Figure product. The sections aren't "gone" - they are completely empty.
Which was the story for most of December and I cannot imagine why they didn't make any solid attempts to restock. If anything, I would have thought that attempts to restock didn't make it in time for Christmas and perhaps new product would begin hitting shelves THIS week - but yet again - nothing! So I guess it's true, they didn't really even try. Shame on them.
Only Mattel/WWE product I saw in the last ten days was Mattel Series 2 Retros - discounted at $7.00. I suspect these toy departments are being under-managed....

If you want to see changes in your stores, you will have to make an effort and repeated efforts at that, this will not be easy, but persistence is key. I agree with this, and I have actually been actively pursuing these folks (in a polite way of course) at my local Walmart. I believe it is noteworthy that this year (during the holiday season) was significantly different than previous years. During the 2015 holiday season, many of the Walmarts in my area had dump bins full of basics from Black Friday through Christmas. Last year I saw many restocks during December. This year, it appears that some of the last shipments that ever came in were the Survivor Series end caps, and none of the ones I saw had any basics. Just old Battle Packs and older Elites. At one store, two of the shelves on the Survivor Series end cap had Zombies, which didn't move very well. Perhaps Walmart/Mattel decided to use this holiday season to move some of the earlier Elite and Battle Packs series that were held up in distribution issues earlier in the year. In my area, Elite 49 was very hard to find in May/June. We had Elite 48 (and previous series) for several months, then all of the sudden we get to summer and Elite 50 and 51 are on the shelves everywhere. Elite 49 (and Elite 42) primarily filled the Survivor Series end caps around here, so it appears that someone was aware of the earlier shortage and made up for it then. I'm assuming that these folks from Mattel/Walmart thought the Survivor Series end caps inventory would last through Christmas. It didn't, and due to the makeup of the end caps, basics were scarce at all of Walmart locations that I visited. I'm really hoping that when the new inventory finally arrives here in the coming weeks, that it is new stuff (with the new packaging). Like I had mentioned earlier in a previous thread, there seemed to be a conscious effort to limit the inventory to the very last series in the red packaging (Elite 53, Battle Packs 48, and basic 77). Nothing after that arrived to any store in my area. Perhaps Mattel did that on purpose so that when the new inventory arrives (with the "fresh look" packaging) it will draw attention to the product. Again, I don't know, but just speculation from a marketing perspective. It could appear as almost a "relaunch" of the line if that is the case. In any event, I'll admit that I will be disappointed if the "new" inventory that arrives at Walmart stores is a bunch of older stuff again. If that is the case, it may hang around for longer periods of time and slow down future shipments. I'm convinced the Walmarts in my area could have sold a lot more of the older stuff during December provided they actually had it on the shelves. On my local board, it was reported that the one Walmart in my area that never had a Survivor Series end cap finally received it on December 23rd (that store had empty shelves since October). That itself looks like a distribution problem, and that is what the employees (at several Walmarts) have been telling me when I ask. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next couple of weeks.

My target received three or four cases of the yellow Tyson Kidd basic series, thought I was going to be hosed on ever finding anything new again ....but they sold through every single one of those basics. The only thing they had left was the NXT ring, HOF zybysko packs, and three each of Akam and Rezar. Wal mart still has figures but it is a waistland of the Graves wave and left overs of the SS end caps.

What state are you in? I'm in Florida. Maybe this is a south east thing?

Not trying to start a fight, and not saying you're wrong, but you can't placethis all on resets. I literally stop by my Walmart every other day to pick up groceries and whatnot. I always stop by the WWE "section". Since August, I have lived through 2 resets now. Not once have I seen inventory outside of 2 mini metal figs for 99-cents. I'm saying no one is doing their job at my local Walmart, and I'm willing to bet same goes for elsewhere. We went through Black Friday and Christmas with absolutely positively no inventory on it. August: none. September: None. October: None. Novemeber: None. December: None. January:?? I know no one is doing their job because after the first reset in August, I saw papers saying what should go where in each aisle. Most of those aisles remained unfilled till mid-September. Star Wars figures alone where in 3 aisles in 3 different areas because they were thrown around. The WWE Shipper had Star Wars Black Figures in them as well as Legos. Now, it's almost 2018. This isn't all because of a reset. It's idiocy on the management. So yes, while this is a reset period, if you don't see something after 6 months (which may equate to 2 resets), understand it's incompetency. Your store just sucks What heroes says is truth Deny all you want, but it’s a wide yearly occurrence I'm not denying it. I'm stating the fact that something is wrong since I've literally been through 2 reset periods with no stock in that area. As I stated, I can literally walk to Walmart in 10 minutes) from my house. I stop there nearly every day. If it was just a reset thing, you would have to admit I should be able to find some indication that figures were actually there at one point. I highly doubt my area loves Ultimate Warrior Ultimate Maniac as much as anyone here that they would take an entire shelf of it in a less than 24-hour period from my visits. One of the aisle charts showed DM Ultimate Warrior as being on a shelf with a street date of 9/2017. 9/2017 came and went with no sign of Warrior. So someone isn't doing their job and ordering the right products. My original post was to warn people that while yes it is a reset period we are in, it can also be an incompetency issue. I went yesterday and saw another sheet as to how the aisle should be setup. I think it's new. When I go today, if it's still there, I'll take a photo. Then we can see if stock shows up on whatever the street date is. If not, maybe I'll have to endure another reset period before shipment comes in.

I'm from Winston-Salem North Carolina and all you need to do is see the figure finding threads for us to see that Winston is always bone dry and the outlying counties usually only get one shipment if something and then it's gone forever.

Why is it strange? It happens every year AFTER Christmas, which is the busiest toy buying time, the fourth quarter. In fact resets happen multiple times a year. It's the January thaw. Dont be a rube... Are you name calling? Do you have room to call ANYONE names? What do you mean, do I have room? Bugger off, and let the adults talk.

I will also add that stores are going to start receiving stock but in all likelihood it wont be put on the floor until the restock. Target is notorious for it they pile toys on bulk pallets, wrap them and then store them. It will say the items are in stock but wont give a floor or back room location because its stored as bulk.

Target has randomly stocked HOF5 and I just found NXT2 elites this week. But Walmart’s here in northeast Georgia are a total wasteland.
