Personally I give it a D. It had some great wrestling, but no compelling storylines, raw and smackdown episodes were mostly bland, and lots of questionable booking decisions.

D. A few good feuds, some good wrestling, but on the whole, a lot of wasted potential and blandness. And Jinder ing Mahal as WWE Champion for 6 months.

Same story as most years... Lots of matches that were technically good, and a few great moments, but no real momentum to the shows. They could be a chore to get to and often gave no compelling reason to tune in the next week. Some real dips in match quality at the top end of SmackDown too, thanks to the WWE title reigns of Bray Wyatt and Jinder Mahal. Some big stuff, like the Shield reunion and Nakamura joining the main roster, ended up flat.

A few good matches and feuds, but it was nothing incredible.

If we're counting NXT ill give it a C, NXT started off slow this year but really peaked from about June on.
Regular TV was a nightmare though.
• Guys way past their prime are begin given World Title reigns over well deserving full timers aka Part Time Brock & Goldberg • Jinder Mahal had the most boring pitiful uneventful WWE Title reign in history • Styles got screwed over at the start of the year being booked against Shane at Mania • Nakamura was somehow buried almost from the get go on an already star-ridden Smackdown. • James Ellsworth wins the first Women's MITB • Bray Wyatt / Mania 33 match with Orton / House of Horrors / etc... • Losing solid guys like Neville and Aries due to poor booking • Splitting up teams that still had a ways to go such as American Alpha and Enzo/Cass • Roman Reigns beating Undertaker at Mania 33 • The horrible storyline that is Jason Jordan as Kurt Angles son • The horrendous booking of Finn Balor
And thats just what I can think of off the top of my head.
To me the few saving graces other than NXT of the year were Miz, Styles, Usos/New Day feud, The Bar, and the surprise return of the Hardys.

I’ll go with a C.
The year started pretty good, especially on Smackdown. Then as the year went on, Smackdown kind of started to slow down and become nothing again. Then once Jinder got the title, Smackdown kinda grinded to a halt.
RAW was kind of a chore all year. Seemed like Rollins and Ambrose fought Cesaro and Sheamus a billion times. The Jason Jordan angle was a misstep as it currently stands.
Where I do have to give WWE credit is where some of the shows that were expected to be nothing, had some great stuff. There seemed to be slightly more freedom and creativity.
Overall, my grade is based on having some good progress but then reverting back to the same old stuff. If they had built on the good stuff, the grade would have been better.

The first half was pretty good, but in the Summer it started to go down in quality and just kinda continued down from there. A for the first half, C for the second, so I’ll give it a B overall.

D because the only storylines I was really intrigued by were Lesnar vs Joe & Reigns vs Strowman. AJ Styles had another great year, but I think he & Kevin Owens should've been feuding over the WWE Championship instead of the US Championship. I think that The Authority storyline as finished a long time ago.

I gave it an A!!
We saw AJ Styles hold the WWE Title twice in 2017.
Seth Rollins held the Tag Titles twice in 2017.
Roman Reigns held the IC Title and the US Title in 2017.
Sami Zayn finally turned heel - showing that he really is a natural d-bag - which in turn made me a fan of his in 2017.
We saw the Shield come back together in 2017.
We saw Braun Strowman become a superstar in 2017.
We saw The Miz dominate the IC Title for like 75% of the year in 2017.
We had the birth of "Rusev Day!" in 2017.
The Usos vs. New Day for the Smackdown Tag Titles made the Tag Title matches fun again in 2017.
We saw Lesnar vs. Goldberg at Wrestlemania in a much better match than their last encounter.
We saw the return of the Hardy Boys - and even Woken/Broken Matt as well!
I don't know, I thought this year was a pretty damn good year for WWE. I think people are just too picky. I stopped analyzing the product and I have ended up actually enjoying it more than I did years before.

I think this year was better than most would give it credit for. We saw Balor vs AJ. AJ vs Brock. WM was good... for the most part. AJ/Cena. New Day & The Usos consistently delivered. Neville was great. Enzo proved many wrong with his heel turn. NXT was great. McIntyre returned. Joe's been booked well. The rise of Braun. Bate vs Dunne 3 beautiful times. The Bar. And the Mae Young Classic was entertaining.
But I also feel they left much to be desired in the same token. Too many tag team break ups. Ellsworth winning the women's MITB. Orton winning the Rumble and having a horrible feud with Bray. Bray then having a horrendous feud with Balor. Nakamura & Roode having mediocre debuts against Ziggler.
I think a B. Because things were good, but could have been better.

I stopped analyzing the product and I have ended up actually enjoying it more than I did years before. It's a great feeling isn't it? Once you can learn to just watch it, instead of trying to be an armchair booker, it makes the show far better. I still get annoyed at times, but it's not a matter of life and death like I used to think it was.

D-
I can't give it an F, but god damn this year was terrible.
Cons: - Orton winning the Rumble. - Bray winning the championship two years too late. - Roman beating the Undertaker at WrestleMania. - Aries leaving. - Neville leaving. - Mojo winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. - Enzo getting massive heat backstage according to news sources, then gets a push to the moon with multiple title wins. - Jinder's main event push purely for publicity in India. - The continuing use of women in three-on-three teams. - The misuse of Shinsuke Nakamura. - Using "Great Balls of Fire" for a PPV name. - The continuing of WWE patting themselves on the back by giving women wreslers normal matches that men would have. - Brock being very dull and predictable. - The misuse of Finn Balor. - Jason Jordan being Kurt Angles love child. - The push of Jason Jordan. - The Miz's push off of one not that good promo. - The Miz's IC title reign just so he can have the title of longest combined days so that WWE can continue to erase the past (Asuka beating Goldberg's numbers, New Day beating Demolition's, etc.) - Charlotte hot potatoing of the belt just to bump her numbers up because of who her Dad is. - The continuing use of the brand split to have two dull shows with mishandled wrestlers.
Pros: - The Hardys return. - Adam Cole's debut.
There are more for both, but I can't stress enough what a terrible year this was.

B/C seems reasonable. My interest for the main product faded towards the end of the year while it grew for NXT. Seeing AJ win the WWE Title off Jinder @ Manchester Arena will be one of my top WWE memories forevermore along with seeing the UK guys getting involved.
