I love the Royal Rumble. Best event of the year! if WWE just added these Rules & Regs it would be Perfect!
1. Explain the qualification Process. This year a few guys tweeted out that they are entering, is that all it takes? How did Drew Carey get in? My solution is to just say it's an invitation only event given my the McMahon's. Therefore surprises entrants can be maintained.
2. What ever the time domain is between entrants (1min, 90sec, 2min) needs to be consistent across the board. Last few years it has gotten way out of hand with time between entrants ranging from 30sec -3min in the same rumble match! My solution is to have a running clock not just a 10 sec. clock.
3. Superstars have 10 seconds to enter after the clock buzzes for their spot.
4. Superstar who exit the ring other than being eliminated have 10 seconds to reenter (lawler rule).
5. Superstars can maintain legality in the match when one foot hits the floor only if they are in contact with the top rope. (kofi rule) I do enjoy the Kofi spots but they are played out. If opposite feet hit one after the other they are eliminated.
6. No valet's or managers allowed at ringside.
7. Superstars can not be eliminated by a non legal entity (hulk/sid rule). Superstar must reenter within 10 sec of freedom from the nonlegal entity.
8. 1 entance per superstar (mick foley rule) Who would have entered in those spots in '98 if Cactus lasted longer?
9. Show a lot of Refs and Security/lumberjacks to insure rules are followed and time limits are maintained. Have a ref escort the entrant with a 10 sec count, etc.
10. It needs to be very clear that violations of rules will lead to large fines and possible termination from the WWE.
What do you think? "Dude just enjoy the show" I will and always have just trying to make it better.

Hmm... Nah I like the unpredictability of the rumble. I do agree there should be set times for entry's even if it is altered every year.

Well for the 2018 Royal Rumble, the only new rule that will be applied is for WWE themselves and that's "make sure you rub your own back and pat yourself on the d*** over the fact that there is a Women's Royal Rumble." There will be an eye-rolling amount of self-congratulating going on that night that you won't be able to get a word in edgewise.
The only rule that should be enacted is go back to two-minutes between entrants so that it lasts a little longer. The Rumble doesn't last as long as some entrants that have been in it the longest. Anyway its the Rumble, we may get a few surprise entrants, a surprise debut, we might get a Kofi spot, Curt Hawkins might try and break Santino's record for shortest participation time, etc. Its the one PPV that they still seem to hold onto the original format that hasn't had its rules changed much since the 80's, tweaked maybe, but not really changed and that's a good thing. The only time the Rumble is bad is when WWE is clearly having Roman set a new record or have the wrong guy win, but the match itself is largely fine as it is.

The only thing I don’t like is when an eliminated participant, or someone who isn’t in Rumble at all, eliminates someone.

Why? Explain. I’ll explain my reasoning, What prevents someone from just hanging out and not entering until there is only 1 left? The answer is nothing.

Why? Explain. I’ll explain my reasoning, What prevents someone from just hanging out and not entering until there is only 1 left? The answer is nothing. Some guys have entrances where they walk slower, do taunts etc. By giving them 10 seconds, you also eliminate heel aspects of taking longer to enter the ring

This year a few guys tweeted out that they are entering, is that all it takes? How did Drew Carey get in? My solution is to just say it's an invitation only event given my the McMahon's. Therefore surprises entrants can be maintained. Find me 42 people who actually care about the qualification process for the match. It has always been a handful of stars and a bunch of people you know have no chance of winning. That's it. Any returning names or celebrities are solely for a cheap pop. 2. What ever the time domain is between entrants (1min, 90sec, 2min) needs to be consistent across the board. Last few years it has gotten way out of hand with time between entrants ranging from 30sec -3min in the same rumble match! My solution is to have a running clock not just a 10 sec. clock. It will never happen. Clocks have always been fuzzy in the WWE universe. Clocks, like rules, are there when they need to be.3. Superstars have 10 seconds to enter after the clock buzzes for their spot. No. Who cares how long it takes someone to get into the ring? 4. Superstar who exit the ring other than being eliminated have 10 seconds to reenter (lawler rule). No. Again, who cares. Cowards are gonna coward and cheaters are gonna cheat. It's the circle of life.5. Superstars can maintain legality in the match when one foot hits the floor only if they are in contact with the top rope. (kofi rule) I do enjoy the Kofi spots but they are played out. If opposite feet hit one after the other they are eliminated. Nope. The "he almost got eliminated spots" are fun. Over the top, both feet touching the floor is the only way to be eliminated. You start adding a bunch of other dis-or-dats and it takes away from the free-for-all feeling.6. No valet's or managers allowed at ringside. Again, cheaters gonna cheat. And managers and valets need an event paycheck too.7. Superstars can not be eliminated by a non legal entity (hulk/sid rule). Superstar must reenter within 10 sec of freedom from the nonlegal entity. In theory, this is a decent idea, but then you take away a feud building avenue.8. 1 entance per superstar (mick foley rule) Who would have entered in those spots in '98 if Cactus lasted longer? Did this ever happen other than at the 98 Rumble? Does anyone on the current roster portray more than one character? No reason for this rule. Besides, Mankind, Dude, and Cactus ARE all different guys regardless of the guy in the tights.9. Show a lot of Refs and Security/lumberjacks to insure rules are followed and time limits are maintained. Have a ref escort the entrant with a 10 sec count, etc. Because refs are bastions of law and order and never miss anything?10. It needs to be very clear that violations of rules will lead to large fines and possible termination from the WWE. I think we're all tired of fake fines and storyline termination angles. What do you think? "Dude just enjoy the show" I will and always have just trying to make it better. Yes. Just enjoy the show. I'm glad it's still real to you though. The fact that you're still passionate about the WWE in 2018 is still worth something.

I don't think theres a better explanation as to why these rules make no sense to be added

I would definitely do for some of this. They can actually include stuff like this in that stupid 10 minute video they play every 2 minutes hyping up the match.

I like the randomness of it all. The only big issue I ever had was when Finlay got disqualified.

Getting eliminated by someone who isn't in the match should not count.

The only rule that needs to be explained for me is why a guy is eliminated if he goes through the ropes, climbs the turnbuckle, and gets knocked off. That’s not going over the top rope.
