Seeing the post about WWF Hasbros in Poundland was a lot of fun, while I did not see any of these and to be honest I do not even remember if there was a Poundland where I lived as a kid. It made me remember how I scored a ton of LJN Bendies in the early 90's.
In Scotland where I grew up, there was a large department store called What Everyone Wants in a town called Kirkcaldy. In 1991, they for some reason they started stocking a ton of LJN bendies figures. They had the whole collection and if I remember right they were like 99p each. I was going to stay with my grandparents for a long weekend as my parents were going away and I was allowed to pick up a ton of LJN bendies, I remember getting the ring and a ton of figures, I especially loved Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat. In looking back, I do not actually think there was a figure I did not get. The ring was pretty cool as it worked well with my Hasbros that I had at the time, but I decided to leave it and the figures at my grandparent's house so I had something cool there when I would go and visit.
I got into wrestling in 1989 so I missed the LJN craze and I do not even know how readily available they were in Scotland at the time. I had a few older WWF Silver Vision tapes at the time, including WrestleMania III which a buddy of mine gave me as he did not like it, so having all these figures, most of which appeared on that tape was awesome. I played with them so much the bodies started to crack!
Did any of you guys have a What Everyone Wants department store around you and remember getting WWF LJN Bendies?

Seeing how much LJN bendies are always available on UK ebay, I figured these were sold massively in the UK. I don't think I ever saw the ring on UK ebay...

I remember seeing a bunch of them in a UK store called Merits (?). I picked up Andre and JYD. Eventually both of them became generic no-name jobbers in my Hasbro Federation.
I never saw the ring though.

The ring was pretty awesome. In our what everyone wants, the rings were stacked on the ground of course this was over 20 years ago, but I do not remember there being many rings in comparison to the huge amount of figures they had. I do remember the box being pretty trashed though. Of course as a kid I didn't care as that thing was ripped right open as soon as we got back.
Do any of you guys have yours from when you were a kid? I would be interested to hear how they held up over the years as I did not play super rough with mine, but they still damaged pretty easy.

Yeah I remember getting about half of the set from a shop here on the south coast of England...it was a Toymaster at one point but not sure if it was an independent or something else at this point (91ish). I remember my first one was Brutus Beefcake; also got Bundy, Albano, Volkoff, Kirschner, Steamboat, Hillbilly Jim, Animal Steel. I also ended up buying the whole WCW galoob setvfrom this shop, as well as many hasbros. As an aside, my first galoob was Tom Zenk (RIP). I had no idea what/who WCW & the wrestlers were so I used Zenk as Texas Tornado initially! A little while later my dad bought me Pro Wrestling Illustrated (maybe August 91 issue) from John Menzies, which had colour photos/results from Wrestlemania 7 & WCW/NJPW Super Show - so I then knew who they all were! Great memories. Prior to this my brother had a Hogan v Sheik LJN thumb wrestler set, no idea where that came from though.

I never saw them back then. The hasbros were the first I saw in stores. The wwf thumbs were available via mail order order though as I got the piper hillbilly set

I remember wwf bendies hitting pound stores in mid 1990 in the UK, I had just started collecting hasbros when these came over and looking on the back package for the wwf belt offer. The belt offer was for about '87, so I knew these were old stock. Lots of Hogans, JYD, and andre.
I opened all the packages and used them with my hasbros as enhancement talent. Shortly after that I saw wcw galoobs in the stores and my figure obsession was well and truly set.

there was a hammer & Tonge shop near me which sold LJN bendies. I picked up a few a kid. what everyone wants sold all sorts of weird toys like Crash dummies and then bizarre Nes games. And yes I suffered a deprived childhood of being dragged from shops like that. Matalan was always kind to me as kid. I picked up Anvil, Sid Virgil and IRS from there for £1.99 each.
