Does anyone know why the retro figures are using so many "Jumper" molds? I can see why Rollins would have it. But Sting, HHH and especially Goldberg were just sad to be found in that design. The "jumper" design produced the worst Hasbro figures other than the Rick Rude headlock mold, so why would Mattel use it? I'm a big Hasbro fan and I've been collecting these retros, but it's disappointing to not see more variety.

Jim Cornett answer: These mother f****ers are flip floppin and flying all over the place and there ain’t a shred of psychology and nothin mean s***!!!
My guess: It’s a fairly basic mold that shows off the entire figure in a plan pose. I would like to see more use of the mold the old Macho Mans and HBKs had. I don’t collect the Retros but they are cool.

Because a lot of the Hasbros has it so these copy the Hasbros, hence, the same moves. Hasbros only used a handful of moves so there aren’t too many options

Probably because Sting had the Stinger Splash. Goldberg had the Spear.
But my theory is Sting, Triple H and Rollins were all given the jumping action, because everyone knew they were the three names I would buy no matter what and they also knew I hated the jumping feature.

They choose the action feature based on whichever one is closest to doing the wrestler’s finisher, it’s pretty self explanatory.

They can’t, Hasbro lost the license in 1994 What does that even mean? This isn't Hasbro.

I think it is a budget thing. The jumper mold uses less plastic I think.

Maybe due to the chest seam; I can't remember for sure.

@heroesandmartyrs approves of this thread title. Literally me in the coffee shop this morning when I was looking at the new threads and then found that this thread that could have the full question in the title and not clickbait and then me trying to explain to the patrons why this was wrong and horrible. Edit: The thread title has been updated to something decent.

HHH and Rollins was using the pedigree, you can do a crappy pedigree with it (hook arms jump up)
Goldberg's was meant to represent the spear
Sting was supposed to be the Stinger Splash.
They're not arbitrary, they're trying to emulate signature and finisher moves. BUT also I think they rushed a pinch.
Goldberg easily could have had the Suplex move for the jackhammer but Mattel hasn't made that yet and they were probably wanting to get a Goldberg out quick. Sting, too, could have had a different move for the Drop (maybe the headlock?)
I think they had limited molds for now and wanted to get certain guys out and just compromised with what they had ready.

I don't know the answer, but I just wanting to chime in with the statement that I hate the jumper mold. Always have. I always will. I pray that when/if they ever make a Game Triple H, he has a different stance.
That is all, I will see myself out.

Honestly it's ridiculous how many new ones are using it.
