One thing that I've been waiting on for the last few years, is Jimmy Snuka merchandise.
He was/is one of the most iconic characters in WWF/E history. Imo, it would be a shame to see him permanently excluded from WWE merchandise. We need a barefoot Snuka!
So where do you guys think we stand with the mainstream perception of Snuka? Honestly there wasn't much in the way of pushback when they gave him a tribute video. It seems like mainstream America thinks he was made to pay up in a settle and or was exonerated. I don't see an issue moving forward, I think we're out of dodge on this one.
But am I wrong?

He is listed as a plaintiff in the concussion lawsuit unless the executor of his estate withdrew. The resurfacing of the death of Nancy Argentino and him only getting off because he couldn’t stand trial may make Mattel steer clear of him even if WWE doesn’t mind honoring an accused murderer.

Being accused is as good as doing it these days it seems, the court of public opinion is brutal. With that said the WWE has done much more than honor him, they fought for him back in 84. No-one did more to protect Jimmy than Vince. Snuka is a beloved figure within that company.

Personally I would buy a barefoot version of Jimmy Snuka. But if we never get one I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Not a huge void left in my collection with his absence.

They should make more Superfly figures, and Hogan too, this whole corporate baizou attitude is almost on it's way out, I hope.

Jimmy Snuka killed someone. And McMahon worked overtime to potentially cover it up, if it's true. Does that stop you from supporting McMahon?

How many of you who would buy Snuka would buy Benoit? Id buy both honestly. They're just toys...Not like either are collecting benefits from it. That being said Snuka is no longer (and hasnt been) listed on the WWE's Alumni site since they reopened the murder investigation. The only other 2 that arent on the list is Hogan & Benoit. So while they wont completely ignore his existence (pop up in videos & highlights) they're not going to glorify him or bring any unnecessary attention his way.

I would buy benoit because his work should not be judged by his personal life.
We honor footballs and don't forget them when they murder or beat people we all hate oj but cant deny his accomplishments in football.
Why should one persons work remembered while other is lost. Yes no hall of fame or big event but did we know how his brain was functioning hell a former football player murder 2 random people and then himself yet everyone is like oh it was because his poor brain and he made 10x as much as benoit.
It sucks what happened drugs concussions jealousy and rage but there work exist hell use the funds to donate to abuse or something. If not for that tragedy would wrestling be as safe as it is now. Would punk even been ecw champion or any champion after. We wwe offered rehab to fallen performers. There is triumph in tragedy and sometimes its not prettiest.

How many of you who would buy Snuka would buy Benoit? Worst case scenario a toxic combination of mental illness and depression coupled with some level of brain damage and he snapped. What happened what horrific, but I don't think he was mentally at his best that day. He had obvious mental health issues, emotion issues, and we've seen how concussions can effect athletes. So I don't think he was a murderer in the sense that he was an evil man who plotted and took joy in killing people. I also won't say he was a wonderful man either. So after rambling a little, i probably would buy one. My mind just won't except him as a predator of any kind, evil. A man who lived a pretty good life up until that point, did something awful that day. Nuance is everything with Benoit, he wasn't a cold blooded killer. Snuka is like OJ, a court of law never rendered a guilty verdict on him and I don't do court of public opinion.

Benoit is a different story. A complete piece of crap who murdered a defenceless child. Someone who was dependent on him, someone who he should have given his life to protect. Benoit is scum. And what he did totally erases any in ring achievement.

Remember when PC culture didn't exist? Now public perception and zero tolerance are running rampant. Everybody is dissecting everything that everybody says and does to a fault.
Do we have that much guilt as a culture?
