Recently I have noticed that the wwe figures are becoming harder and harder to get especially in Scotland. Anyone else in the UK noticing this trend? For a start we're rationed of almost all exclusives and by the looks of things not even getting entrance greats. Also I have seen a significant rise in the prices for instance, the price of angle's entrance greats is around £35 almost $50, if we even get it. And that elite ring with goldberg is at cheapest £100, $140 whereas I saw a post a couple of days ago on here about the same ring $22 missing goldberg from walmart. I'm my opinion the difference of price and availability of figures between UK and USA is INSANE!

I'm in the states, but I completely agree that the prices for UK collectors are pretty shocking. Heck, I have trouble justifying spending $20 on a figure sometimes.
Can anyone explain why there is such a dramatic price difference? I assume there are some pretty heavy tariffs/taxes on imports, but it just seems crazy that the price of the product nearly doubles on some figures. Is this common on all imported goods? Something that impacts all toys? Or unique to WWE figures?

I had a healthy collection of around 150 figures across two display cabinets. I’ve sold them all within the last 3 months and have given up entirely due to increasing prices at smyths and others and most of the good figures being US Store exclusives meaning £40 from resellers on eBay or rip off website dealers. It’s not fun anymore. I’ve even given up on the retros now as Smyths have increased the prices, I can afford them but I’m not buying on principle.
Short of being extremely loaded I’m not sure how any UK collector can afford to keep going apart from mainline figs with all the worthwhile figs being US exclusives.

Part of the reason I just buy females, I tried collecting the males, but trying to catch up was too costly, and with the womens and NXT lines being exclusives it's put me off even more, now I just buy figures of my favorites.

Considering the prices of other everyday stuff it's not too bad. Don't forget we also pay VAT and the tax companies pay on profits is an outrage. I don't think the price of an elite here is too bad baring in mind it has to be designed, made, shipped, royalties have to be paid, taxes, shops pay rent and staff etc. Life is just expensive, my house is worth £375,000 But when I collected Hasbro, my parents house was about £60k

Yeah I don’t get the chance to pick up many exclusives, mainly get regular figures from Smyths or A1 Toys.
Think I’ll need to look online for the Hardys Epic Moments pack though, that looks too good to miss!

Myself and others in the nhs have effectively seen a wage drop of around 15% over the last 5 years. The essentials come first. VAT, Tax, R&D, store costs, overheads etc.. all understandably contribute to an increased price. But it still means that most consumers can’t afford it anymore.

I'm lucky I'm not in the same boat, so I couldn't comment. It is an utter outrage that you've seen a wage drop in the most vital of our services, and despite a drastic increase in demand on the nhs just doesn't stack up does it

Yeah it’s not great but there’s worse off than me I guess. It’s all personal circumstance with budget and income but as most people are in the same boat I think this contributes to the current steady decline of the Uk market for consumers. I suppose I’m speaking for everyone when I should just say that for myself specifically it’s the price and US exclusives that has killed it for me.

This i sold off most of my mattels before christmas and was really gutted about it but it's costing me too much with having to buy from the US then getting hit with an import fee on top of it. Just ridiculous

It's been a bad start to the year. Nearly everything is US exclusives and the new Elite and Battlepacks have yet to hit Smyths.

You should have at least 50 Piper figures in every store in Scotland

Totally agree with all this... it's just getting ridiculous with things like the Entrance Greats figures at £33 and Goldberg ring at £100. I dread to think how much the Epic Moments sets will be too... (no doubt around £50-£60). And nearly all the Flashbacks now being US exclusives is just horrible for non-US customers... it's becoming a real pain trying to keep up - and it makes collecting Mattel WWE not half as much fun as it used to be. I still love the figures (and the new stuff coming out), but what with the ridiculous UK prices, all the US exclusives (and having had a bad trading experience on here), part of me just wants to jack it all in too...

The US Exclusives are killing the hobby for me, I have lost interest especially with flashbacks seemingly becoming mainly US retail exclusives. If the new Flashback Elite, basic and Hall of Champions do not make it to UK retail then I am done. Is MattelDesignTeam aware of the situation in the UK?

I live in Scotland lucky for me I live next to Smyths I only collect Orton & Bálor so I'm lucky for that as well as they don't have many us exclusives I feel sorry for other collectors tho you now get hit with a customs charge even just buying 1 figure off ringside collectibles my friend got hit with 1 just for 1 figure

I doubt it hes only in charge of the team that designs the elites he doesn’t run Mattel

I agree with what everyone else is saying. I think it's a joke that almost every flashback is a US exclusive.
Flashbacks are all I collect and it is so annoying to see these great new lines like Hall of Champions and Flashback Series coming out in America for $18, when we won't be getting them unless we pay £40 for a bashed up one from ebay.
