I know we just got an elite Orton in the new WM wave that came out, but the last time they released a contemporary Orton was E35, not counting the E49 Flashback. Before that was E21. I’m not complaining by any means, but I just wondered why.

Because the E12? Orton with the brown plastic shirt rotted on shelves for years?

I wouldn’t complain either until they start to do the good attires they waste on basics IE WM XX, WM 31, SS 04. All the elites except e35 have been black trunks....

Orton was peg warming pretty bad for a while. I can think of a Walgreens in Chicago that still has several of him from e 35.

His E12 was a notorious pegwarmer - plus, I've yet to meet a kid who likes him. My cousins and their mates stop watching when he appears on TV. So do I, if I'm honest...

I haven't been to my local K-Mart in a couple of years but in my mind they still have 30 Elite 12 Ortons on the shelves.

You’ll find they produce more of the characters that sell well and less of the ones of those that dont

Because Mattel over saturated in the market a few years back. He’s selling fine now since he’s not two per case.

Personally I don't think Orton makes a very interesting figure and the one time they had a chance to knock one out of the park was the flashback legend killer Orton and they bungled that one up by giving him the same black trunks he wears today instead of any of the memorable colors he wore during the run like the red he wore against Foley or the purple he wore against taker at mania.

Mattel makes some baffling choices for Elite attires at times. Legend Killer Orton was a miss opportunity to put out a stellar, colorful Orton figure.

I believe he wore red against Foley.

I try to watch him, but I can't watch when I fall asleep. When he joined the Orton family it was the first time he'd be interesting in years. Of course they were going to screw it all up, though, and it ended with a dreadful WM match.

Any elite flashback Orton will sell. except e49 XD The ones locally sold well here when Walmart got another E49 shipment, but that's neither here nor there, I like the figure regardless.

Orton hasn't been good since his feud with Undertaker imo, that being said he never changes his look so no need for more figures, at least Cena changes colors every now and again.

If peg warming means less elite opportunities, explain Triple H getting more?

It still blows my mind that during the brief period of time in 2014/2015 that Orton wore colors other than black, Mattel only made the blue attire as an Elite.
I still want my Backlash '04 Orton Elite with an Evolution shirt, IC strap and a barbed wire baseball bat.
