Today I walked down an aisle and bought my first figure in over a decade. If I can recall, the last purchase I made was the Adrenaline Series 6 2-Pack with Hurricane and Rosey. As time went on in my life, I lost all interest in wrestling, so naturally my figure collecting stopped as well.
With a strong, rekindled interest in wrestling, I wondered how wrestling action figures were being made these days, too. After browsing through sites like Ringside Collectibles and Amazon, I was completely floored with how much things have changed. All I could keep saying to myself was, "How come Mattel wasn't around when I was a kid?!"
I never held onto my original collection that started off with an Undertaker from the 1996 WWF Superstars series, but today I dove back into the belly of the beast. I only found it fitting that I start my new collection off with an Undertaker (Ministry of Darkness) figure from the WWE Network Spotlight.
I love the job Mattel is doing. Extremely excited to make some more purchases here in the future, in hopes of having an awesome collection to display!

Sweet man, welcome
I’ve got the Sdcc undertaker for my ministry taker. I still haven’t opened it because it looks so cool in the box. I am however jealous of the cloth robe accessory on the network spotlight figure. I don’t want too many undertaker figures though, I’m not an undertaker guy.

Awesome, happy to hear it. I stopped collecting for years after the Ruthless Agreession figures. I was in Walmart one night and my wife's daughter wanted to look at toys. Next thing you know I'm standing at the Wrestling Section and im just blown away by how realistic and cool the figures were, I found the Series with Sting, Dolph Ziggler, godfather and others but what made me think over the next few days were they had Rick Rude and IRS. Over the next few days my wife took me to walmarts, toys r us.
My first purchases were Bossman and triple h spotlight, then Kofi and fandango in tall boxes. I was just going crazy buying them all.

Sounds similar to my story and others. I came back about 3 and a half years ago. Dont dig yourself too big of a hole. Theyve been releasing more and more figures that go or went for a lot on the secondary market. Youll see a bunch that youll be mad you missed out on. I paid quite a bit for my Wrestlemania 7 Macho Man and Warrior, and SDCC Undertaker and they essentially rereleased the Undertaker in the Defining Moments line. I dont see them rereleasing the other two, but the new WM3 Macho Man Defining Moments is great too aside from the off shade of trunks.
Welcome to hell-i mean hobby

Nice pick up mate!
I stopped watching wrestling altogether between I'd say 2003 and 2012. And I stopped collecting around the same time.
One night out of the blue an old school friend asked me to watch wrestlemania 28 at his house for old times sake.
I hadn't a clue who half the guys were but I said Yeah anyway.
My gf at the time thought it was funny so bought me a john cena basic for my birthday and that was it...i was hooked again. Now I have over 200 figures and my only regret is opening them. I have kept my last 50 or so purchases MOC but I wish I'd kept them all.

Welcome back. I got back into the collecting game just over 2 years ago after only buying around 5 or 6 figures in the previous 8 years.
At first I just kept them in their boxes. Then I started getting doubles so I could open one and keep one in its box, and then I started buying multiples for customs.
I don't even have anywhere to display them...

I also stopped watching WWE in about 2006/7 but started again in 2015 (with NXT) every now and then on youtube. As of about a year ago I started watching Raw, Smackdown, NXT, Main event, PPVs and even other promotions such as TNA or Impact wrestling. Hope you make a good display to share with the community!

Welcome aboard! I was in a pretty similar situation. I bought my last figure around 1999 and hadn't watched wrestling since the early 2000's. I checked out a PPV in 2015, and shortly after bought a Razor Ramon basic that I came across at Target. It's amazing how much the figures have improved since I was a kid, and Mattel has done an amazing job recreating many of the figure attires from classic Hasbro and early Jakks figures.
Some older figures can get a little pricey, but a lot of fantastic figures can still be found at or below retail price.

Welcome. You’ll be hooked now seeing all the cool stuff Mattel has and is putting out. Even if it’s here and there.

Kind of similiar to me, I actually stopped collecting soon after Mattel starting making them though. Got back into it about a year and half ago and my first purchase was a DM Undertaker.
