But if you only buy Elites you are going to have a limited selection of wrestlers and attires. I buy some of the Basics, but almost all of the Elites (except for the same old tired Cenas and Romans.)

I used to buy the occasional basic to swap arms and heads. Now I just think they're useless and wouldn't want to buy one just to swap a head. Kind of leaves us who want correct parts without any options. I was able to fix my elite hall with his basic arms.

Yeah, I only collect Attitude Era and some Ruthless Agression anymore, so I'm used to having to wait just for a specific guy to get in a wave. All good though, as I spend too much on Marvel Legends.

I rarely collected basics. I believe I only have one basic which is the BAF series Jericho.

Pick up an occasional one for my kids, but I have no desire to buy them for me any more

I did when Mattel first took over, but through the years I've bought less. At first they were great for a rapid roster expansion, and the women figures were awesome. I'll buy a basic if it's a wrestler I really like and they come with some type of pack in like a slammy or briefcase, but other than that they are just cheap plastic. Taking away the stands and name plate, introducing the accessories into a battle pack and then taking it away, now relocating and removing articulation from figures, and basics seem to have sloppy paint. Mattel has fallen a long way from where they started, and you can tell when you look at figures.
I'm happy that I managed to buy the figures when they were still good.

some attires are better as elites (suits, street attire figs most of the time) Basics get out quicker because they're cheap as well. do people really want suit and street attires? Even as a kid I didn't want those. Plus look at that recent basic Orton with painted on shirt, people would have lampooned Jakks for something like that. so far I buy all the suit figs.. I buy the ones I want regardless of what series but do prefer Elites, the articulation on basics doesn't bother me.

I still buy them. The articulation changes they made don't bother me at all.

I’ve bought 3 basics since the articulation switch; Graves because who needs elite articulation on an announcer really? Seth Rollins with his t-shirt because it’s my favorite Rollins design. And Natties newest fig because I didn’t have one for my smackdown shelf and she came with the brief case. They’re really just filler for the collection at this point.

I haven't stopped, but I mainly buy Elites. The only Basic on my wants list at the moment is the new GM Kurt - though, I will be repainting that suit.

The only Basics I'll consider these days are the Walmart BaF Basics. They're not as bad as I thought but that lack of an ankle is weak

Sorry if this has been beat to death but just curious, has anyone else just not been able to get over the new arms on the basics? I will only buy elites now due the change, it certainly has helped the wallet but kinda a disappointment... What's up with the arms??

I may be at the bottom of even the minority but i cant stand elite leg articulation or the ab crunch. I love basics and still do with the new articulation. I think the new arms and feet look better especially the kick pad boots

Since the Basics now have actual joints and the biceps don’t spin anymore
