He is given a budget. He follows the budget He has also stuck his neck out for us plenty of times and has fought to get what we want. Don’t blame him Well i think if wwe figures are selling well, maybe they should you know expand this mythical "budget". Still waiting for: Sensational Sherri Greg Valentine Hercules Hernandez WCW Golberg Shouldn't have to wait 7 years to get undisputed jericho and the only reason it was made was it won a wwe.com poll Having polls on what wwe figures to make says "hey we don't know what you wrestling fans want, so you pick". I’m sure the budget has nothing to do with him. We are getting more accesories and more lines than ever before. Though he may cater to us with certain figures, he also has to keep the general consumer in mind. So many posters on here think the dude is intentionally trying to us around all the time, when in reality he’s not and he’s doing his job..very well. It’s not a travesty that Hercules doesn’t have a figure yet

Secondly, we are getting less articulation is basics, accessories removed from battlepacks for a while now. But we get display stands with elites that we never asked for, which I still really don't understand. 2 negatives and 1 positive is not more. We are getting more store exclusives which depends on the retailer as to how easy it is to find them. I don't think more exclusives are a overall a good thing. Its hit or miss and if you keep missing your wasting time and money. Lastly the family of Hercules Hernandez said they would love to get a figure made of him to honor him. But that all apparently went on deaf ears, and i don't like that.

The past bunch of series have been great with accesories, especially seeing as they have started to give us more soft goods. People have been wanting stand back for a bit. Inflation is still a thing. In order to keep the prices the same some times you have to cut corners to keep costs down. The arm articulating is fine, but Ill admit that the new ankles suck. I’d like a Hercules, but it he fall into a tough category of people the casual buyer won’t remember, nor would his figure really be that appealing to those that don’t know him.

Man, a lot of you guys sound like WFigs and WWE teamed up and hired Mattel to make you figures... We are like .5% of Mattel’s market base.

A positive thread quickly turning into a negative one? Say it aint so! 1. Congrats to Mattel! Nothing is perfect but they've done a great job with the line overall. 2. This board is unbelievably frustrating lately, I'm not sure what's going on. Not surprised this devolved into a complaint session almost immediately. Let's turn things around one of these days, shall we?

How can you call a true, actual thing mythical when it is well known to exist?
Also, raising the budget will come with an increase in price. Not a hard thing to comprehend.
Not everything is for the smark guy on the internet, either. A Hercules may be appealing to some of the fan base, but there's also a whole lot of other people. Plus, you don't know if they're trying to fit him into a line as we speak. I want a Hercules but damn some of you are ready to strike at anything.
Also, because some people seem to think otherwise, Bill is part of the design team. He doesn't make the decisions that the higher ups make. He has actually fought for people like us, the vocal online community, a number of times.

He has actually fought for people like us, the vocal online community, a number of times. I think many of the members keep bringing up Bill because he is the 'face' of Mattel for us. He is the only person from the company that interacts with the fan base (or customers if you like), he listens to collectors and tries to do whatever he can to address our concerns. The most recent example of this is the thread he created asking for pictures of WWE sections in stores to help fix the distribution problem that continues to plague retailers. He has nothing to do with distribution yet he still tried to do something to help fix this problem. He is the only person at this company that we have contact with, thus why people keep addressing their comments/concerns to him. Kudos to him for reaching out to collectors and for constantly trying to put out the best product he possibly can with the restrictions (i.e. budget constraints) that he has to work with. As for the topic of this thread, this looks to me like another BS press release that corporations put out to make themselves look good. Here is what it says about the action figures: There are no actual sales figures given, so we have no idea of how well these figures are actually selling and how 'ahead' the sales were compared to Star Wars & Marvel. As someone else mentioned, how are these figures selling so well when you have wide spread distribution problems at retail which is where most average fans/customers buy these figures?!

I don't know. Smyths can't move them at a reduced price.

I'd be happier if we could get stiffer wrist joints, the correct # of elbow pads for Taker/Diesel, and knee pads for AJ Styles.

As someone else mentioned, how are these figures selling so well when you have wide spread distribution problems at retail which is where most average fans/customers buy these figures?! Exactly, took the words right out of my mouth. Give you a perfect example: I went on a road trip to Minneapolis because there are a ton of targets, walmarts, toysrus, goodwills, etc all clustered in that area. I went to at least 15 target stores over several days, 1 had a single roddy piper hof elite. The rest where clogged with tito santana. And a single store had a leftover nakamura nxt elite, and 1 store had the new nxt series 3 elites which i was shocked to find so early. I already bought nakamura and piper on ebay before that because why even bother. But i scooped up the new ember moon and bobby roode figures for myself right then and there. I also took pics of all the stores and was pondering if i should post them since the hall of fame line is dead anyway. I actually wanted to buy the hof jake the snake figure but could not find it in all. Now imagine you live some place that has only 1 walmart, target, or toysrus in town and the next nearest one is 40,50,60 miles away. That and your local store rarely gets in new or even exclusive stuff. My local target had no new elites all through the holiday season, then get in a case of elite 54 after toy reset. So if even with all those issues mattel's wwe line is still doing well, maybe they could do more and do a lot better.

A K-Mart by me is closing. The only bare spot in all of the toy aisles was where the WWE figs were. There were 2 Booty O's cereal box sets of New Day, reduced to a little over $40, but that was it. Everything else was sold. Mattel is obviously doing something right.

The main problem is the short cuts (seems more laziness then budge) and the choice of wrong parts. Why do they continue to give people wrong torsos? Beefcake should not have the Hogan torso. Sting shouldnt have a Batista torso. Why do they continue to paint on the bottom of a singlet when we have not one but 2 single mold bottoms for the thigh pieces? Why can elites get tall boots but basics cant even though they have the mold already made? Why do they continue to cast in black & paint skin tone and not cast in skintone and paint black (or whatever color)

Mattel has went on record and said they do not sign their own guys to make figures. IT all goes through WWE. They send the WWE a list, it is either OKed with names, WWE tries to get them u get them a legends deal, then it is OKed, or they just say no

But that all apparently went on deaf ears, and i don't like that. Less articulation in Basics and less/no accessories in Battlepacks is probably due to inflation and Mattel wanting to keep the costs the same... cuts have to be made somewhere or they'd have to raise the price (which would probably cause a LOT more complaints!). I don't really understand adding the display stands to Elites... I'd prefer all the budget go on the figures and accessories. But maybe the stands (as they're black and all the same) are just REALLY cheap and easy to produce - so hardly affect the overall budget given to the line. A lot of collectors really seem to like them too. I HATE store exclusives... being in the UK, they're nearly always impossible to get at retail - and end up being ridiculously expensive. BUT having said all that, the vast majority of Flashbacks lately seemed to be dying a death at retail - or selling poorly compared to other figures in the series. So, as much as a pain in the @$$ they are, at least store exclusives are a way of still getting some awesome Flashback figures... at the end of the day, I'd much rather have figures like these be store exclusives, than not have them at all(!). I would love a figure of Hercules - but Mattel still have to get the OK from WWE. And then they'd have to see where they could place him in the line... as much as collectors like you and I would like him, we're only a tiny percentage of Mattel's overall market - and just look how poorly old-school figures like Magnum TA and JYD sold. Hopefully though, with all the exclusives and sub-series, he'll get a figure one day.

Great example, this demonstrates the problem very clearly. You should NOT have to go to 15 Targets just to find a couple figures, that is insane! I don't believe that scalpers or collectors snatched up all the figs at all these locations, Target and their poor re-stocking take the lions share of the blame IMO for the empty shelves. I don't understand why they pay the extra money for the exclusivity then don't bother to keep their damn shelves stocked?!
After reading your post I am even more discouraged about ever finding HOF5- if you who live in the USA can't find it and resorted to visiting so many stores then what chance do I have of finding anything when I have to cross a border and have no way of knowing what will be on the shelves?! I want the Jake & Piper figures but do not what to pay eBay scalper prices for them. I wish the HOF line had died after series 4 and series 5 had been moved to the new Walmart flashback line as I think I have a much better shot at finding figures from this line.
