I hope you will all indulge me for a minute as a share a personal story that I believe people on this board can appreciate.
Like most of you, I started collecting Wrestling figures when I was real young starting with Andre the Giant and the first Macho Man Hasbro figure. I now have a son who is about to turn two years old which got me into collecting again for him and for me.
I buy Elites for display but I have a bought a number of basics to give to my son one day. He loves "Good Guys" as he puts it. Anything Marvel or DC he goes crazy for.
Yesterday, when I got home from a run to Target, I had bought HOF Jake Roberts. He saw the box and said "Daddy Open". I told him this one was for me to display, but I had something better for him, so I went and got the first set I had bought since returning to collecting. It was the TRU Exclusive Mattel Fan Favorites pack from a few years ago that included Taker, HBK, Punk, Cena, Savage, Warrior, and Triple H. His eyes lit up and he was so excited to receive his first wrestling figures. Needless to say it was difficult getting him to bed because he was enjoying playing with his new "good guys".
Fun moment for me as a Dad and I hope he loves his figures as much I as I did when I was young. I appreciate all the great figs Mattel has put out over the years that has kept my interest in collecting.
I hope my son knows he will also eventually need to take over duties ON THE HOTLINEEEEEEE 1900-909-99 HUNDREDDDDDDDDDDDDD

My son is almost 2 and when I got Elite 54 Usos the other day he saw Cena on the back and went " CENA CENA APPLE JUUUUUUUUUUUICE!" and he's obsessed with Bobby Roode and GLORIOUS.

I remember thinking “Ah man my son and I will love collectibg together” and now when I buy anything my wife says “ Just give it to your son, he will want it and actually play with it way more than you ever will.” I have lost count on how many times my son has snuck into my room and stolen figurs from me. I found my SH figuarts Nappa and Vegata in his toy bin and missing hands of course. I have caught him playing with my Neca Aliens, and he has tried to open my Detolf to snag my vintage ewoks and Hot Toys. He is 6 now, and Yes, he does own more of my toys than I do. But the memories are so special.

That’s awesome! Enjoy Similar story for me, I never collected wrestling figures my whole life despite being a fan as a kid and up through graduating college in 2000. My son was born in 2010 and when it became time to get him into action figures at around 3 years old, I chose to look up wrestling action figures because I had been playing wwe 2k13 with him and then I got us the wwe network to watch. He loved his “wrestling guys” and I frequently was adding (elite flashbacks only) to the collection. That lasted for a few years but I would say sometime when he was 6 he lost all interest in wrestling and playing toys I still add a figure to the collection now and then.

Story was almost as good as the gimmick. Love it all, and congrats on passing down the hobby.

I have a similar, yet a little more horrifying story.
I got married 10 years ago to the love of my life (we had dated in high school, my first live, broke up, and found each other again later in life) and she had 2 daughters, one 5 and one 9... which I now consider my own.
Anyway, I had my workroom with all of my figures in it and my youngest, Katlyn, loved to come in, look, and gladly take any and all figures I was willing to let go. She was especially fond of my Star Wars and wrestling collections.
Anyway, long story short (somewhat), I had a few Jakks figures I had autographed at various shows and appearances, and one day I came home and found my workroom door open. Upon entering my room, I noticed Katlyn sitting in the floor surrounded by various loose figures I had given her, as well as an autographed Rock figure I had gotten him to sign at Survivor Series in 2001. She had ripped it open because she "don't have one of him" and was beating the hell out of a Triple H figure with it.
Needless to say, I was flabergasted that she had gotten the figure and opened it, but I couldn't be too mad because I had left the door unlocked.
Funny thing is, she is now 16 (going on 30), but the other day when I was getting some stuff from her closet, in the right-hand corner of the top shelf, there was an old Jakks cagematch ring with all of those figures I had given her in it... the Rock lying on top.
She has kept those, all these years. The only toys, other than a couple stuffed animals, she had held onto throughout the years.
Damn good feeling.

I don't have any kids but my,9,month old niece absolutely loves hanging out in my room because of my figures. I have a few basic I bought recently laying around that I give for her to play with. Her favorite thing to do is fly them into my cats.

Awesome moment for you two. When my daughter was younger any DC line (Batman/JL/JLU) that had a female character in it I had to buy two or my display figure would be taken. lol

Awesome that you are passing it down!
My 4 year old loves to "customize" his figures when I am working on mine. Its pretty awesome to see them start to display their favorites!
