I am a big Green Day fan. I've seen so much negativity towards them. Yeah, they have a bit of a formula. I still really enjoy them and I've seen them live twice. I think it’s a certain hardcore portion of the fan base that refuses to accept ANY criticism of the band and will tear apart anyone that says otherwise that brings them most of their hate. The misconception that they’re an “emo” band also contributes a lot I’m sure. I personally like most of their music, but those hardcore fans can be annoying as hell for any band/artist. Fair enough, and then you have people who refuse to listen to anything American Idiot and beyond. There are a group of people that won't go past Kerplunk or Dookie. However, I try to find something to like from everything. However, I'll admit the trilogy is mostly garbage. I really liked Revolution Radio though.

Spice Girls. There I said it. I'm like the soccer mom in Small Soldiers. I don't want to like them but when one of their songs comes on I have to admit that I like it. This is me as well. Most of the universally 'hated' pop music I'm normally pretty into. No doubt there is garbage in the genre but there are also pretty easy/likeable melodies and sounds.

Most of what I like nobody knows, but the rest of it everyone hates. I F#CKING LOVE Phil Collins. I don't hide it, and when people give me $#!t it doesn't even phase me. The easy response is 'Patrick Bateman was based off of me, are you sure you want to poke the bear?' and give a really creepy smile. Aside from having some awesome mid-80's pop he has some amazing early 80's stuff that nobody knows. And then there's all the awesome Genesis. Best incarnation was Phil, Mike, and Tony (although I adore the prog era as well {Selling England!!!}, and the brief stint as a 4 piece).
I also love the Spice Girls, I've considered doing them at karaoke. Not yet thus far. Maybe tomorrow. I've done Gloria by Laura Branigan though, as well as It's all Coming Back by Celine Dion. I have absolutely no shame over any of it.
People also hate Rush. Don't understand that one, I don't think anyone really can touch them.

I learned just recently that Phil Collins is one of three artists to sell 100,000,000 records as part of a group and as a solo artist. The other two were Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson (if I'm remembering it correctly - could have been one of the other Beatles but I doubt it). That's some pretty exclusive company. Personally, I'll take a pass on most of Phil's stuff, solo or as part of Genesis, but "In the Air Tonight" is a great freakin' song.

Well, I can’t say anyone hates them but I LOVE the Misfits. I have found that people just don’t know them. It utterly irks me when I see anyone wearing their merch having not listened to one dang song. I got into them years back. I heard Saturday Night playing at a local record store. I got into them but quickly saw how lame the “Graves” era is. I have several of their shirts, a book about them and I even made my own Misfits jacket. It’s just a strong irk when I run into people who literally have no idea who they are. I used to date a guy who would wear their stuff. He couldn’t name a single song, a lyric, didn’t know anyone in the band...it was terrible 😂. It’s good their logo is easily recognized in American culture, however it’s a slap in the face to real fans to see hipsters in their clothes. And, if your favorite song is from the Graves era, I still don’t like you 😂 It's a shame you don't live near New Jersey. They're playing the Prudential Center in Newark on May 19th. Original lineup. Ticket prices are freaking expensive!

Ticket prices are freaking expensive! Darn it! Original lineup is by far the best. I’m probably the only gay kid who is a hardcore fan of the Misfits haha. I know Danzig is boarderline homophobic but damn he’s miles better than Graves. I’m glad they booted that idiot. Plus Danzig just puts some musical sense to the group. They got so overly corny with their “horror-punk” music. Danzig does it with some sense though.

Black Veil Brides. Liked them at the first record, hated them because of Andy's attitude, then heard Bob Rock was to produce their self-titled in 2014. That was a bad ass record. Went back and got The Wretched And Divine after I got the self-titled. Like them again. Most everyone hates them.
Others include: Nickelback, Metallica [You'd be surprised at how many people say they can't stand the band anymore], and nowadays, Machine Head. Five Finger Death Punch too.

Not so much they're disliked, but it's more of a "wtf,I thought you were a metal head?!" thing, but I really dig Chvrches,Stepdad, and Brave Shores. They're right there with Motorhead and Megadeth on my player.
