Per Ryan Satin, a WWE statement.
“After further consideration, we believe it’s best to proceed with the name ‘WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.’ What remains most important is that this historic match is part of WWE’s unwavering commitment to the Women’s Division.”

Snickers called it "Unacceptable" in a statement. "We were recently made aware of the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc's (WWE) decision to honor a former wrestler during the upcoming WrestleMania 34 event. As a principle-based business that has long championed creating inclusive environments that encourage and empower everyone to reach their full potential, this is unacceptable. We are engaging with the WWE to express our disappointment."

This battle royal will be as historic as the women’s battle royals that took place at WrestleMania’s 25 and 30.

I know this isn't a thread about it, but since its mentioned, why am I rubbed the wrong way when I see something being reported by Ryan Satin? In the last year I see his name all over as if its the gold standard and I don't know who this is and/or if I should trust it.
Someone fill me in here.

"Angry that a wrestling promotion chose to use a Women's Battle Royal at their biggest show of the year to glorify a former talent that has a questionable history?"
"Grab a Snickers."

They are now calling it the Spider Lady Memorial Battle Royale.

The Sensational Sherri Memorial Battle Royal, The Mildred Burke Memorial Battle Royal, or The Mae Young Memorial Battle Royal sounds like dang fine names to me. Way better than WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal.

Which I'm sure happened after wrestling fans contacted sponsors like Snickers.

Eh, I don't care if Snickers made them do it, it had to be done.

Excellent news! It doesn't matter whether it was a change forced by fans or sponsors, the important fact is that it has been changed. Just an absolutely horrendous decision right from the start. Although I'm sure a lot more people know about Moolah's history now, there were enough people beforehand who knew, so I'm not sure why Vince thought he could get away with it. I assume "WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal" is just a placeholder name until they decide who else to name it after. Mildred Burke would be an excellent choice.
Hopefully now WWE and Stephanie McMahon can stop glorifying Moolah and distance themselves from her. Frankly, Moolah deserves the Benoit treatment.

She pimped out her female trainees to male promoters and wrestlers, drugged them, stole their money, screwed over others to maintain her position, and could have single-handedly killed women's wrestling because of her greed.

I don’t believe a cent of this bullcrap. Moolah is a legend and this a lynching on her legacy.
Snickers, y’all need a Snickers cause you’re not yourself haha. They have no idea who Moolah is and obviously none of you do either. Once again we attack someone who is dead and can’t defend themselves. Kudos kids. Kudos

Despite the name, if you take a quick look at their news timeline, there's really no juicy rumors reported. His site's stories seem legit. He does seem happy to talk spicy on Twitter, though.
