He looks like a wrestler, he has trunks like a wrestler, he's muscular like an 80s wrestler... Is Stretch Armstrong based off a wrestler? Just wondering.

That is apparently the 90's version. The original, per Wikipedia, came out in the 70's and there is no mention of him being based on a wrestler or anyone else.

Stretch Armstrong was introduced in 1976 by Kenner. The “Stretch man” idea as it was called was pursued with two different bodies in mind. One was a sumo wrestler and the other was an all American blond hunk (the sumo wrestler was never produced). Currently Hasbro owns the rights to Stretch Armstrong.
If anything, the LJN Stretch Wrestlers are knockoffs of Stretch Armstrong...
