Loved it! I liked the original run too. I’m actually shocked because I’m really against reboots. The only thing I can pick at is how it retcons the original series ending. The last original season was crap but the ending really brought it full circle. So now...nothing was a book? Some was her book? Who knows. I really like DJ’s daughter and Darlene’s son shaking the family up a bit. Especially with the political stance of Roseanne and Dan. I feel like people assume if you’re Republican that you’re against everything. But they clearly love their grandkids. It shows not all Repubs are narrow minded *cough says the gay mixed race Republican* The only thing I wanna know is, how do Darlene and Becky look amazing but DJ looks about 15 years older than he is! He’s only 36 but I’d give him 50. Heck even Aunt Jackie looks younger lol

Yes Allen has..but it wasnt "cool" by Hollyweird's standards to hate Republicans until Trump was elected. Hollywood has a long standing grudge against Republicans. James Woods has some very interesting thoughts on the matter. It was always in their best interests to hate republicans. Not saying you will be the cause, but I sincerely hope this doesn't get locked. Because like it or not, politics have always been a big part of Roseanne. If this thread gets locked it won't be by me. Please proceed freely

Last night's episode was ok. Laughed some, but not as much as the first 2 eps. Remembering being the angry teen I was made that ep kind of uncomfortable. I am looking forward to a DJ storyline and Galecki to show up soon.

I guess we are also supposed to forget about Jackie's son as well.

I love how Harris is basically a carbon copy of Darlene.

Sara Gilbert’s acting was horrible last night. Her as a teenager with short lines & quick comebacks suited her. Now with a bigger piece of the pie... she’s not good.
Roseanne’s wittiness & delivery was much better last night.
So like said above, Jackie doesn’t have a kid (Andy) in this version? Is she not also round like all the time anymore? Basically at Roseanne’s side in every other scene.

Remember when Roseanne tearfully apologized to DJ for spanking him because she grew up in an abusive household and didn't want to spank her kids? Yet now she suddenly goes on about how her grandkids need to be spanked and taught a lesson because her parents are too soft?

Member when Darlene teased Roseanne about bringing a Republican home from college, instead of trying drugs again?

I'm wondering if DJ's daughter is his or his wife's from a previous marriage. There's this big hubbub I was reading about her being too dark to actually be his or some crap like that, idk.Social media is a wide, wacky world of wonder.

I'm assuming his wife already had the daughter and that he is her step dad. Though it would be funny if his wife ended up being the girl he refused to kiss in the play.

As a kid I wasn't a fan of these Cheese heavy shoes, Roseanne, Full House, Family Matters, and so on. I did watch though because options were extremely limited back then. These days I'd NEVER watch these cheesy shows.

These days I'd NEVER watch these cheesy shows. The first (I would say) 5 seasons of Roseanne was some of the best television going. Relatable characters and relatable stories. I could relate to a struggling family dealing with their brat daughter running off and getting married vs a not struggling family dealing with one of the brat daughters waiting an entire episode to tell her dad she haphazardly got her ears pierced. And I do agree, Family Matters is one of the cheesiest shows that hasn't aged well whatsoever.

These days I'd NEVER watch these cheesy shows. Sir, you are talking about my childhood. It was my childhood as well. So I know how painful it was. My son can watch TV. If something lame is on tv he can switch over to YouTube. If nothing is catching his eye on youtube, he can stream pretty much anything he wants. The options for kids today seem limitless. Where as we were stuck with what was on television at that moment. I equate it to the Stockholm Syndrome. You were held captive by tv so you grew to like it. Not me. At the time I watched because there was no alternative. I never related to anything on Rosanne or the other TGIF shows. Maybe because non were aimed at Latinos? Maybe because none were aimed at people who weren't upper middle class? Married with Children was cool because it wasn't all cheese. The Bundys were far from rich. Al worked a minimum wage job and barely made ends meet. There was no fluffy lies on Married With Children. Rosanne on the other hand seemed to be struggling but the sister was a cop, they owned a few businesses, and the show was white washed. Married with children at least had Griff.

Rosanne on the other hand seemed to be struggling but the sister was a cop, they owned a few businesses, and the show was white washed. Married with children at least had Griff. I wouldn't say whitewashed, there was Chuck Mitchell played by James Pickens, Jr. who was in 19 episodes compared to Griff's 44. He also wasn't as focused as Griff, but he was still there. It was mostly about their direct family and their direct family situations, so there wasn't as much outside interaction. Also, with Jackie being a cop didn't last long because she was hurt and then quit because they said she had to take a desk job. Jackie also went through a ton of jobs, worked at the factory, was a cop, was a truck driver, never anything fancy and never for very long. And they did own a few businesses but the first one was closed by the bank because they couldn't keep up on the payments, or something like that. And their second business only made it because they had outside investors with their friends to help them. It wasn't as bad as you think, but I'm also incredibly biased because I really enjoyed the show. It wasn't for me. I think the boom in recent ratings was all people like you, nostalgia driven.

Putting Roseanne in the same category as Family matters and full house is laughable, contrary statement for the sake of being contrary. I loved the original and I like the reboot, but it's missing the same edginess

I thought that the episode that aired this past Tuesday really felt like a Roseanne episode.
We had the return of David, and the return of Roseanne and Jackie's mom. Plus a lot of funny jokes too.

David got fat af 😂 I’m really not picturing him as a dad so I think the storyline is perfect.
Was anyone else stoked to see Roseanne and Jackie’s mom on? She hasn’t changed a bit. I’m hoping this isn’t just a small role. The dynamics of her relationship with the family is gold. I feel it made the show 1000 times better in the original run.
