Another good comedianne fired because she Said What Needed To Be Said you tell them Larry. there's your sign... Of the times Whah? I don’t know if you are joking or trolling or horrible. I’m pretty sure no one needs to be called a Muslim ape. I hated this show before and avoided it like the plague when it came back. I was sad John Goodman and Sarah Chalke lowered themselves to working with this pig again - and that people watched it! Maybe Fox News can air it now. I shown poor judgement with my joke and I appolgize I should of known better

I know they cant keep the show Rosanne because she is the creator and its named after her. But can they create a spinoff called "The Connors"? Kill her off like they did to Dan. And have Dan move on. Or have the show be more based around the children and have Dan show up from time to time. Like Fuller House.

Welp, you refer to or compare a black person to an ape/monkey, you're going to probably go down. It's pretty hard to come back from that.

Why celebrities still write stupid things on Twitter after dozens of people have already gone down in flames for it is mind boggling. How they can see people going down left and right and then do the exact same thing is just stupid. Celebrity's think their immune from being fired. Little do they know, the networks who pick up their shows can dictate their fate. In this politically correct environment we live in today, it is apparent that when somebody says something dumb on social media, the level of backlash is imminent. My inner voice told me this reboot of Rosanne wasn't going to last long. Damn, I was right. The worse part is Paramount Network, TV Land, and CMT have sinced pulled reruns of the first nine seasons from air. Way to go Rosanne Barr. You just costed a lot of people their jobs and their royalty checks from syndication rights.

Yeah, I always had a feeling she would eventually put her foot in her mouth and get it cancelled.
I watched some of the episodes and liked them okay. I was never a big fan of the original, but I thought the reboot was better than most comedys of today.

I was never a huge fan of the original show, but thought this reboot was more or less enjoyable so I would watch it with my mom. As someone who leans more to the left I figured I'd give it a shot regardless of the politics to see things from another perspective. Sure enough, I was pretty happy to be able to have a decent time when watching. But that was a really dumb joke to make. It's mind boggling that she would even risk it during a career resurgence. I feel really bad for the rest of the cast and crew who you could tell put a lot of effort into making this reboot work. If anything else it's a good lesson to other people that think it's okay to post whatever they want on social media.

And I've to to say, all the talk around this shows, why I just hate overly political people too. The same groups of people crying foul for her over the loss of the show for what she said, making claims over what ever happened to free speech, are the same ones, that were crying about how that comedian at the White House dinner should be apologizing for what she said. I really wish, just both side, would f off. And a lot of people need to get it through their heads, that free speech, does not mean your also free from consequences of what you say. Just because you can say something, doesn't mean you should.

A lot of these people who are deeply political should have restraint and better educate themselves. I really hate how this world turned out to be in the last 16-17 years. I mean, damn. Back in the 90's, we didn't have to put up with the level of political correctness we see today. Compared to 20-25 years ago, people were far less offended.

Being Republican or Democrat doesn’t matter anymore. The only important side to chose from is whether you’re Team Raw or Team Smackdown. And that’s the bottom line, if you smell, cause Stone Cold said, what the Rock is, so, cooking!!

The original show was great and the reboot was great..but just as Kathy Griffin killed & ruined her career with stupid, mindless choices...as has Roseanne.
Bet ABC is shooting themselves now for letting Last Man Standing go. Im sure they will replace Roseanne with another classic "random doctor show in a big city that nobody cares about as we tackle "real life situations" that most people dont experience"...that will eventually be cancelled in less then 3yrs

I was happy to see a celebrity with a spine and I'm normally an opponent of social media, but in this case,no one is digging for a reason to be offended. Dammit,Roseanne,I was really into the reboot.

ABC has garbage programing. I mean absolutely trash.

So what does having a spine as a celebrity mean? Supporting Trump? Believing in conspiracy theories? Being hateful and racist?

Her show deserved to be cancelled after what she tweeted. Unacceptable.

Having a spine means none of the above, but rather that her show had balls. It tackled issues and didn't walk on egg shells. I'm a person who is fed up with the way we have to coddle these days.

Back in the 90's, we didn't have to put up with the level of political correctness we see today. Compared to 20-25 years ago, people were far less offended. WAAAAAAYYY back in the day in the 70's ABC fired Howard Cosell for during a football game when a black running back was taking off downfield with the ball, stating "Look at the monkey run, no one can catch him" or something to that effect. Now his excuse and from what I understand is true is that he would always refer to his little grandchildren as "monkeys" when they ran around as a term of endearment. This was a misunderstanding that cost Cosell (arguably the greatest sportscaster of all time) his job WAY back in the 70's. Now Roseanne called a black woman an ape in 2018, a very racially charged time and a totally different climate. So if Howard got it for an accident in the 70's, Roseanne is going to get it in 2018 saying it on purpose.

What Roseanne said was dumb but I don't think the show should have been cancelled. Especially as she had apologised (which I don't think she should have done, offensive as it was a comedienne should never apologise for a joke no matter how bad). People blurt out crap and regret it. Speaking more broadly, people should be able to apologise and have some semblance of forgiveness otherwise nobody will ever be able to grow as a person. We've seen so many people say the wrong thing and have their lives ruined. The power of the internet, and how quickly it can be used to ruin lives is frightening.
You also have to be able to separate art from the artist, basically 99% of hollywood is absolutely reprehensible. Jennifer Lawrence didn't starve for work after she said the Hurricane Harvey and Irma victims deserved it for voting for Trump. There's absolutely a double standard. But both sides are hypocrites, the same people who are offended over Roseanne weren't offended when Bush was compared to a chimp, or when Trump is compared to an Orangutan. Just as the people who were demanding that woman who roasted the press secretary apologise, don't care what Roseanne said.
(I've never seen the show FTR).
