Calling a black woman a monkey isn't a racially-tinged joke. It's just being racist. Actions, and words, have consequences. And we can worry about racist people, murders, rapists and child molesters at the same time. This isn't an all or nothing proposition. She didn't call a black women a monkey. She said a very light skin woman who she assumed was not black looked like a character from planet of the apes. Maybe if the meme she retweeted compared her to Caesar from the more recent planet of the apes movie I could more clearly understand how this comment is being seen as racist. This wasn't the first time she had called a black women an ape so I don't believe her when she said she didn't know.

Her tweet said "muslim botherhood and planet of the apes had a baby." There was no joke, there was no meme, she wasn't retweeting anything. She was responding to two people. The way you people fall all over yourselves to defend garbage is unbelievable. My phone isn't letting me post the screenshot for some reason so I'll just post the link. www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=oFdYMJvt&id=1C438B665680574270E2CAC51DBA56898CA4E3FB&thid=OIF.RSt15AdheYbLbFjc5We95A&q=Roseanne+tweet+screenshot&simid=147938084748&selectedIndex=17&ajaxhist=0

she was just on a late night show like a month ago talking about how everyone is offended too easily...seems a situation like this was inevitable.

I'm guessing ape was just the animal with the biggest balls she could think of. If you were actually watching her twitter you would have seen memes of Valerie Jarrett side by side with one of the characters from the original planet of the apes movie.

Nope. When people play Hitler in films and tv, is that person casted in the role a racist? Really? Yup. You said when she dressed up as Hitler that confirmed her to be a racist. I was making sure you meant just her or everyone else who dresses up. Dave Chappelle dressed up as a Klansman in the name of comedy...yet I don't think he's been attending rallies lately.

The difference there is that only one if them has a history of saying racist things. And doing something in your personal life, even if it is on Twitter, is far different than a paid acting job. Common sense, learn it.

Seems like a lot of people are forgetting that satire comedy is a thing. And are you really trying to say Dave Chappell has never made a racist joke? The only true history of racist comments Roseanne has made is against Muslims. But as a Jew being pro Israel, can you blame her? With that atrocious mess going on in that part of the world where both sides have some degree of fault, can you blame any Muslim for being anti Jew or any Jew for being anti Hamas?

My point is she’s a comedian. Pretty much all comedians have some type of racist/stereo type sets. So don’t take things so personal, learn to laugh or ignore. Murders, cho-mos, rapists. People who commit crimes, that what others should be concerned about. Roseanne committed no crime, it’s part of her act. Calling a black woman a monkey isn't a racially-tinged joke. It's just being racist. Actions, and words, have consequences. And we can worry about racist people, murders, rapists and child molesters at the same time. This isn't an all or nothing proposition. Don’t ever watch anyone of Lisa Lampanelli’s sets. She goes after every race, culture, stereotype, man, woman, gay, bi, a sexual, trans. Your head would explode 😂

I hate this mamby pamby bullcrap world we live in now where everyone want to cry because their feeling get hurt or because everything offends them, in liberals and their "feelings". Thats why I love guys like Dave Chappelle & Carlos Mencia. Chappelle will have your white girlfriend sleeping with a black ex con in one skit then in the next have black folks portrayed as ashy crack heads. Mencia would rag out whites, black, middle easterners and mostly hispanic.

If that's true about dressing up like Hitler, then I wasn't aware of it. However other people have mentioned in this thread that that is far from the only racist thing she has done over the years. Calling a black woman a monkey isn't a racially-tinged joke. It's just being racist. Actions, and words, have consequences. I don't understand what is so hard for you all to understand that some things can be similar, yet still unrelated. Rosanne Barr called this woman a monkey because she is black and disagrees with her political ideology. That's not a joke, that's just being racist. And that is completely different than what Mrs. Lampanelli does.

Why is it when liberals get upset over something we're all snowflakes who can't handle "feelings" but when your side does the same thing it's justice and you're all crying liberty tears?

You should see how they get when the DC comic book shows on the CW have to many gay characters or when they focus on them too much and it is just liberals pushing their agenda.

Oh sweetie please tell me where & when i threw a temper tantrum. Saying cancelling your highest rated comedy on your network (for political reasons) is asinine is hardly a temper tantrum. I guess if you're fragile and any sort of critique bothers you then I can see how you'd confuse it with a "temper tantrum"...Apparently the rating & cost of the show weren't as bad as ABC and someone in that thread was trying to make us believe since FOX had no problems picking it right up & renewing it.

FOX is the production company behind the show so it would cost them less than it would ABC. It also means one more year to add to the reruns for syndication which helps with the cost. They also put it on Fridays a night that it won't have open a year from now so it will likely be cancelled once again. It also was second highest rated show but wasn't much higher in actuall number of viewers than cheaper shows that did better in the younger demos that advertisers like.

That right there. The conspiracy nonsense. Anytime anything negative happens toward your side then everyone must be against you. It can't be that this one particular CEO of one particular network (or whomever makes those decisions) decided that the declining ratings coupled with rapidly rising salaries wasn't worth it. But no, that logical, reasonable and rational so that can't possibly be it. No the real answer must be that a conservative sitcom that was on the air for something like six seasons -- all of which took place when a democratic president was in office -- was cancelled shortly after a response was elected. In other words you used irrational and frankly paranoid nonsense to describe an obviously nothing situation. Temper tantrum. Now clearly a different CEO at a different network disagreed with ABC. And I'm glad they did. I watched the show on occasion, I thought it was funny. The first one I saw was when one of that daughters had to give a speech at her school but she couldn't use micro-aggressions and Tom Allen was going on about how there are only two genders. I laughed. It's a good show for what it is. I'm not a sitcom guy myself but this one is no better or worse than the others. But I'm glad its coming back. It's a popular show with a political leaning that isn't well represented in entertainment. But more importantly than that, people are back to work. But overall this isn't a big deal. The cancellation of either show shouldn't be this big of a deal. I wasn't offended by Last Man Standing and ( snatch you listen up too) I'm not offended by what Roseanne tweeted. That was just a crazy, crapty last saying yet another crapty thing. I wasn't offended by it. I can reconcile something as bad without being offered.
