In thinking about an upcoming Double J figure, specifically from his 1995 IC Title reign, it really got me thinking about what I feel has been a missed opportunity by Mattel lately. Sometimes there are just certain attires, or certain looks that require a bit larger budget in order to truly do its action figure justice. This is an area where Mattel is lacking currently as there is no line that goes "all out" for some of the more unique and/or elaborate attires that have been made famous by WWE superstars over the years. At best, we've gotten decent-to-good figures that are "missing" half of what made these looks so iconic or skimpy deco (e.g. HOF3 or E26 Macho King, NS Shawn Michaels, or Retrofest Shawn Michaels).
Similar to what the original Defining Moments line, this concept would be a win-win for both Mattel and collectors. Collectors win by getting a more complete action figure (with multiple accessories and/or higher budgeted deco), and MattelDesignTeam wins by being able to charge a higher price tag for this value-add and perhaps even larger margins on a single figure (depending on costs and retail price of course).
Personally, I'm not big on the 2,3,4-packs of figures for a variety of reasons (i.e. not a lot that's "new" to the figures, might not want all the figures making it hard to justify the price, or I may just purchase on the secondary market). In this regard, MattelDesignTeam isn't getting my $30-$50, but they would get that type of purchase from me with a value-add like this unique line dedicated to some of the most iconic moments ever. It could also help knock out what little market share Storm collectibles has tried to take away with a similar idea in the absence of OG Defining Moments. And if Mattel's concerned about DM potentially being a 'dead brand', how about 'Iconic Moments'? As for examples as to the kind of figures Ithink would be a perfect fit under this new line, here's a few:
These are just a few examples of legends but it'd also work for current-day stars with all their fancy WrestleMania and SummerSlam attires.
This is just my 2 cents about an area where I would be glad to pay a little more to get a little more; it's a compliment to Mattel's work that I just want an option for the full, complete look in action figure form.

- Macho King Randy Savage (Royal Rumble '91) with cowboy hat, jacket, bandanna, sunglasses, scepter
- Jeff Jarrett (In Your House May 1995) with cowboy hat, jacket, sunglasses, Intercontinental Championship
- Shawn Michaels (SummerSlam '94) with chaps, vest, biker hat, sunglasses, Tag Team Championship
- King Mabel (SummerSlam '95) with crown, cape, sunglasses
- The Mountie (Royal Rumble '92) with hat, jacket, shock stick, and Intercontinental Championship
