I hated how they wore Hogan colors. Especially since both were known for wearing bright colorful attires. Also hated the name “Ultimate Maniacs”. Never made any sense because Savage never used “mania” or “maniac”. Ultimate Madness or Macho Warriors would’ve been better.

I think they used Maniac because he was previously a part of the Mega Maniacs - and they couldn't call them the Mega Ultimates or the Ultimate Megas.
I, for one, liked the color scheme. It would have been crazy if Hogan was also in the group - imagine that 6 man tag!

Hogan and Warrior (Summerslam 91) didn’t have a team name. My theory is they were going to call Hogan Warrior “Ultimate Maniacs” but was nixed and they just ended up using it a couple years later for Warrior Savage.

That tag team just didn't need to happen in elite form and they had just did Savage in WCW yellow and red as well in his previous elite. They wrestled what like one match together lol. That Warrior was just a repeat of his E26 one which was shelf warming everywhere due to full cases of him being released.

"Maniac" is a pure Hoganism. Also, as others have mentioned, the red and yellow scheme.
I often wondered if Vince was planning to add Hulk to the mix once he returned after the Arsenio rolled over and he took a break from acting or whatever in '93 - except, Warrior's firing scrapped the entire deal..? I'm sure Bruce Prichard would say that's some Observer crap lol.

They were fine figures as they are however should of released them in a 2 pack and/or RSC exclusive. Most people who wanted one wanted the other.

In fairness they were a poor effort at trying to recapture the Mega Powers magic in 1992 so I think it was fitting they wore red/yellow.....

I thought the Savage called his fans “Macho Maniacs"? My childhood kinda gets blurred at times...

The Mega Powers The Ultimate Maniacs The Mega Maniacs
As long as the words "Mega" or "Maniacs" is in your name, you have to dress in red and yellow. That is the unwritten rule in wrestling.
