So, I'm from Long Island and for the past few months when I order from RSC and I track my shipping and I just don't understand the track the packages take anymore. How does something from Long Island end up in Pa. then in NJ to go back to Long Island?

Yeah it’s strange. I’m an hour north of the city, and mine always go to PA, and transfered to USPS to be sent to me. Only one time I had an order that was actually delivered by FedEx themselves and it got to me less than 24 hours after I placed the order. Wish that would happen more lol.

If you choose FedEx Ground/Home Delivery or USPS Priority or First Class they will be faster than Smart Post. Smart Post involves both FedEx and USPS so unfortunately this can add a couple of extra days to the shipping.

I don't know if that is really unusual. The larger distribution center might be in Pa. I have UPS and FedEx locations about 12 miles away, but packages get sent about 50 miles north to UPS or 50 miles east to Fedex.
You will get it the next day if you pay for faster shipping.

My favorite is when it goes from Keasby, NJ or Newark, NJ to Newburgh, NY to Albany, NY to Newburgh, NY then out for delivery. Does this often. I had a similar one. It didn’t go to Newburgh first, but it went up to Albany and then back down to Newburgh, to Wappingers, then to me. Amazon does weird things too tho, they’ll send things out of PA to NJ and then back to PA.

It’s not the shipper doing it it is the carriers depending on the service you paid the shippers to use.

I live in Virginia and our mail used to go to Greensboro NC first then back here. I never had much problems with RSC shipping just once something from Amazon went back and forth across the country eventually got here. had something I ordered on ebay not come at all but the seller sent me another

I live in Chicago. I often receive mail from sender in Chicago. But its stamped in a post office in Carol Stream, a good hour away from Chicago. I don't know the reason. I just find it odd that things get sent far away only to be brought back.

I'm on Long Island too, and I just recently started noticing this as well. Ringside is literally less than 40 minutes away from me. My last few orders I had the same exact tracking as you and it confused the hell out of me. I used to get my orders literally within two days, while only paying for the basic shipping. But now, I'm lucky if I get it after a week. I think it all has to do with the shipping you choose and the carriers they are using now. If you take the next option up, you'll get it in two days again. Otherwise it travels 200 miles in the opposite direction before coming back...lol

Fed ex Smart Post is the cheapest, but slowest option...I live in NJ & always choose Priority, gets to me the next day 99% if the time

Smartpost is a joke, they take forever and bumble stuff all over the country.

You think they're bad, try shopping with someone shipping DHL.

I live in CT. Things from Florida go up to Springfield, MA then come back down to me for some reason. The USPS is a strange monster.
