This week was the week of packages for me, i have this strange addiction where i see something i like online and a week or two later it's at my house. A couple days ago i got an old Jakks Unmatched Fury Edge, a new cabinet and now these 3 have arrived.
I've been searching for this Terry Funk for a while, but the only ones i could find were either expensive or loose without the ECW Title. After a while i eventually gave up and figured he wasn't a priority for my 2006/2007 collection. But one night when i was bored i decided to go through every section of Ringside and when i clicked on the 'Damaged Packaging' section, there was Funk, complete and only $30.90 (including shipping, $30 Elites are a steal for me here in Australia) without hesitation i picked him up, fast forward to now and when he arrived i was surprised because the only damage on the box was a small crease on the back, which happens to figures that i buy sometimes that are listed as brand new. It may be a hit or miss, but that section on Ringside has some pretty good steals in there considering i got this for cheap and it was hardly damaged, so any loose collector (or someone who doesn't care about the box) should definitely have a look in there.
This attire for Funk has always been my favourite of his as i only ever really watched him during the ECW revival in 2006 at One Night Stand. So this figure with the shirt from ONS would be perfect for me. The ECW title has always been one of my biggest wants and now i finally have it, and the detail on it is great, especially on the strap. To kind of make him a bit more accurate to ONS 06, i gave him Chavo's bandanna which in my opinion, looks much better than the red one he comes with. He fits well with my 2006/2007 collection and when i get a shirt for him, it'll look even better in there, and the ECW title looks great on RVD in the same collection (though it'll go on Punk when i get a more accurate one from that time).
The Seth Rollins Elite collection is continuing to grow and now i can add his first singles Elite and his MITB Elite to it. Both of these figures are great but they look even better in person. Now i'm just waiting on SummerSlam 2017 Seth to arrive and need to get his TNF Elite.
The MITB cash-in Rollins has always been one of my wants and now that i've got him, i'm not disappointed. This Seth looks great form head to toe and the 'skinny' legs aren't even that bad, the black and gold look great together and his headscan is also good, especially with the fading blonde in his hair. His accessories are good though not perfect, personally i feel this (and the other Elites) briefcase is way too big, if they gave him the briefcase that's just coming out with the new basics then it would've been perfect. Then there's the WWE title which is both good and bad, good in the sense that it looks nice and when wrapped around the waist, it looks and fits better than a plated title. But then the negative part of it is that it's a lot more stiff that than a plated title, which makes it difficult to have it over the shoulder unsnapped, but still, overall it's alright.
Seth's first singles Elite is a very nice figure and even though it wasn't that long ago, takes me back to 2014 when he turned heel and had a great year. Though limited in detail, what's there is done well and looks nice, although i think it's a little weird how the tights are a dark grey, knee pads are a light grey and his boots/vest are black, but it still looks good nonetheless. The head is the same as the MITB but still good, and the full blonde streak looks great too. His accessories include the same briefcase which i've touched on, as well and the cinder blocks he used against Ambrose. The blocks are a nice accessory and would be great in any hardcore match in feds.
The new cabinet i got helped me clear up the pile of figures that lived on my desk for months and i got some cool setups out of it. I've had a replica World Heavyweight Championship for months now and only really bought the Unmatched Fury Edge to go with it and wow!, i can't honestly say this is the gem of whole collection and display. Edge is my favourite WHC of all time and this figure looks perfect next to the replica (i also added a Jakks WHC to him and coloured the gems in with a red sharpie)
Here are some pics of what i've got setup in both my cabinets now
Thanks for looking.
