Wish we knew something about this, im starting to think Mattel doesn't want us to buy WWE figures with the lack of communication we've had I mean, a whole line, basics, elites, a ring, and potentially this BP have all popped up at TRU without a lick of advertising My thoughts exactly!

Fair point at the moment. But this line has been in the works for a year-plus and the Elites hit stores prior to (or just as) the closure announcement. Their "marketing" has been the same for TNF, HoC, and Flashback lines. The Elite figures are shown at public expos or trade shows a few times a year, but otherwise any info is treated like state secrets. No info is shown on BP's, single basics, or playsets. We just had Axcess, where Bill showed the Fan Central 2 Elites despite not knowing where they're going. If packaged versions of these BP's are available two weeks later, it's not a stretch to say that the figures could have been shown. A surprise here or there to generate buzz is great, but to be so covert about every single release just goes against common sense marketing. I think it's easy to forget that this forum community is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Mattel's WWE customers, and we're largely adults who are heavily focused on the line. But imagine if you're the parent of a kid who likes wrestling figures, but you have zero interest in these figures yourself. Those people probably account for a large chunk of WWE sales, and it's mind blowing that Mattel does next to nothing to promote that these products are coming soon or in stores. It's just very, very odd. I can't think of any other major toy line that so intentionally declines to promote their upcoming products.

Mattels secrecy with their line is what made me stop collecting. When we only get announcements about things at toyfair, sdcc, and ringfest it makes it somewhat boring when we can't get any information about new stuff coming out.

You would have hated pre internet collecting. Toyfare magazine was a must!
