Both pitched great...Tavarez has proved to be an exceptional fifth starter for the Red Sox so far. A lot of you guys laughed when he was named Boston's fifth starter, but if he continues to pitch this way he's going to be all that the Red Sox could have hoped for from anyone in their rotation.
I think he'll come back down to earth eventually, but you've gotta ride the wave while it lasts...

Having two good starts in a row( albeit the ONLY good starts of the year) hardly make Tavarez an exceptional fifth starter. He still has an ERA around 6.. I don't think he'll be as bad as he was earlier in the year, but I don't expect him to be as good as he was late last year.

Tavarez's line: 6.0 4H 2R 2ER 3BB 7K 0HR Santanas line: 5.0 7H 1R 1ER 2BB 5K 0HR I'd say Tavarez pitched better. Yeah, Santana seriously wasn't sharp at all out there. His defense made some nice plays for him. And that ball Morneau hit to Wily Mo would've been routine if Coco Crisp was out there..and it possibly could've saved those runs the Twins scored.

The only thing i remember Taverez for was breaking his hand punching a phone in 2004 after being frustrated at pitching a bad game in relief...

"Thank you. They came and got me from Texas, I will see you all soon."
I believe that is what Clemens said to the crowd just a few minutes ago.
I'm not happy or upset at the moment. Just shocked.
