Weeeeelllllllllllll......considering the fact that ...And Justice For All is their best album in the 80s, and the fact that Jason Newsted is better than Cliff Burton - yes I said it - that answer would be.....no. You are a bold man saying that. I got into Metallica during Justice so Newstead is all I know (Have you ever heard ...And Justice for Jason? All the bass amplified to the level it truly should have been. Sounds great.) but I love Burton yet respect your opinion. And isn't THAT what the metal community really should be about? Hopefully my town gets a pop-up store! It'll be cool to have a KB toys again. P.S. I think Metallica sucks; Motörhead is true metal Sincerely, A punk rocker

Where can i apply for this “toy nerd” position? Haha, my thoughts exactly. Finally, my lifetime of experience can pay off for something.

I love how the first half of this thread is a Metallica fight. Metallica isn’t that good, but Hetfield is a talented dude.
But hey, I’m a Nirvana fan I can’t say sh¡t.

I can already tell you that this is going to fail. I just doubt there are enough collectors out there that shop retail. There’s too much online shopping for toys. While I love the thrill of a toy hunt, even I’m at the end of my physical shopping days. I’d rather flea market or online it. If stores would learn to keep updated products then maybe I’d have faith. But so far, nobody can stock current figure lines of any kind. It’s pitiful.

Yesterday (I believe) KB CEO Ellia Kassoff made some announcements regarding KB toys expectations for this year and beyond. Here are the highlights: – 300-400 KB pop up stores will open during the 2018-2019 holiday season as a quick way to test each market, while the best performing of those pop ups will be reviewed in early 2019 for potential expansion to one of the larger permanent 600-800 stores – Simon is among the many mall organizations that replied with interest to Kassoff ‘s LinkedIn post and they are now aboard as investors; banks, outside investors and private equity are not involved in this version of KB Toys – Of special interest to collector communities, a dedicated ‘Toy Nerd’ in each store will help buyers with in-store hot off the delivery truck purchases, along with events like meet and greet autograph sessions with toy designers Sounds nice on paper. I can’t wait to hear the locations for the pop up stores. Simon Malls. I worked at a KB that was in a mall now owned by Simon. That'd be cool to see a KB back there. And sidebar: King Nothing is my absolute favourite Metallica song, so props to you for your board name. Thank you! My musical preferences were changing around the time Load was releasing, and I got interested when I heard Until It Sleeps on MTV of all places. Shortly thereafter I saw the video for King Nothing and I was hooked, and then traveled backwards through their library, loving everything I heard. With Simon getting involved, and likely wanting a piece of the pie, I wonder if they’ll go easy on rent as a introductory perk of doing business. That said, pop up stores is the key wording here. For those that don’t know, that’s your Halloween costume stores that show up October 1st and are gone by the first week of November. Since Christmas stuff shows up earlier every year I suspect they’ll be around longer than a month, but getting more than a wave or two of popular lines will be a stretch. There will be a lot of factors involved, but the more I’m reading about it, the more it sounds like a solid infrastructure is in place to at least get stores open.

I honestly could go either way on if I would want KB Toys to come back... Pro: More toy shops. Another reason to actually go into a mall. Con: Another place to take my money.
But TBH: The place where KB used to be in my mall is still empty. The rainbow arch above the entrance is still there too. It would be neat to see it come back, just for memories and old time sake.

Cool..but I’m not gonna love running in and out of malls empty handed. This toy nerd better make my life easier or else I’ll have to still buy online. I hate malls This. Going to the mall now is terrible, going during holiday season is hell.

Most of the pop up holiday stores in my area were in strip-type shopping centers. There’s no reason to believe many of these won’t end up like that. There are ways to keep malls alive as well, and many are still thriving by taking those steps. There’s being realistic, and then there’s doom and gloom here.

Post Options Post by ttttt on less than a minute ago We need to draw up a petition for Mattel to bring back BCA as a KB Toys exclusive, this decision will bring me back to collecting figures as I completely quit collecting early this year....I made an account again just to post this.
