Simple question, I just can't seem to decide.
I'm trying to make a set of Triple H customs and fix-ups spanning the 1999-2003 period of his career and was curious:
What torso choices have people used for their Attitude Era HHH customs? I've heard suggestions in the past, but because I don't have many of those figures in hand, I don't have a real idea of how it would look. (Pictures would help a lot)
In particular, I have heard about Bobby Roode's torso, I have seen one custom with Hunter Hurst Helmsley's torso, and then I was thinking about a macho Man style torso.
Ideally, I'd want something a bit smaller than Triple H's normal torso to reflect how he looked before his 2002 return and leave the figures after that period as is.
Any advice, or have I lost it?

We’re never getting a 99-00 hHh ... Mattel hates us. Agreed. I wouldn't have to make my own if they would just do it already. At this rate, we won't get it until he gets into the HOF.

IMO his regular torso should be used for Attitude Era and the Elite British Bulldog torso should be used for any look based from 2003-current. Never been a fan of that Bobby Roode torso for anyone. We’re never getting a 99-00 hHh ... Mattel hates us. Legend has it the more you ask or make threads about a figure, the chances of you getting it decreases. There’s only one person to blame for the lack of Elite Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley already lol

Doesn't Stone Cold use the same torso, or am I mistaken? I've been using this old thread as a reference: forum.wrestlingfigs.com/thread/256237/mattel-torso-sculpts-list-updated

inevitabledeth no idea, I was always under the impression that they were different for some reason but it’s best to ask someone in the fix-up thread who’d know for sure.

Good point. I just feel like people are more focused on actual finished pictures rather than questions like this. Although I did get some help in regards to the e23 Randy Savage.
That being said, I'd easily ask for photos in the pic request thread, but pictures are rarely posted if ever anymore.

I think the regular Triple H torso works best for a 1999-2002 flashback.
I would say any figure of Trips 2004-2007 should have the Bulldog torso. For example, the Walgreens DX exclusive Triple H needed this torso.

Seems like the popular choice as of now. Has anyone ever tried this? I'd be interested in some pictures if anyone has done it.

Mattel, look what you're making us resort to all because you won't give us a 99-00 hHh figure!!
Seriously though, they have to be at least thinking about releasing this figure, right?

I just used his regular figure (B/O 2010) when I made mine back in 2010. But if you wanted something different maybe used his E23(?) / Network Spotlight torso or the Pillman/Savage torso.

This is basically what I was thinking. I just wasn't sure how it'd look because I didn't have a hunter torso in hand. Again, I did manage to see one custom on eBay which did this, but sometimes it looked too small and other times it looks fine (probably because a lot of pictures of the Hunter has his ab crunched back). Likewise, I was told on the fix-ups thread that elite 23 Savage has the same skintone as Triple H and imo has the same build as a Triple H torso but a bit smaller, so I was debating that as well. Other than that, I was wondering which Triple H had smaller logos so it would be easier to acetone off. Would it be his Terminator Elite or the WrestleMania elite from last year?

Funny enough PJ, I was planning to use that scan for at least 2 of my figures.
But ultimately, I think the Basic 10/ Walgreens scan is my choice for hHh Triple H. I'm going to use the R3 scan for my 2002 figures.

I think Roode's Elite torso, arms, and thighs are perfect for an Attitude Era Triple H... And he's already in black. So you really wouldn't have to do a torso crack or anything drastic like that.

That was another concern I was trying to figure out:
If I used a less defined torso, would it make Triple H's legs look too ripped by comparison? I have seen this too many times and it just seems off.
I do like that Roode is the same height iirc and that the legs are less defined. The torso itself, I still don't know how I feel about it.

I'm going to use the R3 scan for my 2002 figures. The hardest thing about using the R3 Head was mixing paints to match it to the Triple H body. If you don’t want to repaint the head like I did you need to find a body that matches Mattel’s Austin, because that matches the R3 skin tone the best.

I can’t stand that arm mold. To me they are just as hideous as the Elite Fandango torso. I think the DM Steamboat arms (E19 Ziggler) are the best arms for an Attitude Era Triple H.

So basically what I'm gathering is:
E19 Ziggler arms Savage torso Roode legs Triple H hands and feet
I wonder if the height would still be correct.
