I just want them to have a custom option on their website. Mattel: What’s that, randyrock? You want a blue Ken Shamrock with the Sting chest and skin tone, painted leg sleeves and X-PAC knee pads? Well, you got it! Simply create your order by clicking here! Me: I love you. I think that would be a great option for like a premium membership. Like you can track how much you have spent with Mattel through RSC and retail and after a certain dollar spend you would have some access to custom options.

I hope someone from Mattel is reading this though.

I regret not picking them up the one time I saw them in stores. But I also wouldn't mind an elite version of Martel in the pink or pale blue, if they were to do that, then they could just release the purple Martel as a basic and I would be happy. For Akeem, they could release the yellow hat and the large shirt/poncho that had red in it which would be different than the legends figure.

I think it's HILARIOUS that Akeem and Jim were rotting pegs when they were released but now everybody and their mother wants them re-released. Same with Sheik and Volkoff. They couldn't GIVE those away fall of 2010-Spring 2011.

I think Bill has said on a couple different occasions that he keeps an eye on secondary market prices and what figures are in high demand. I don't think they care about the sales prices so much as the fact that if people are consistently paying well above retail for the figure on the secondary market, it probably means there's enough demand out there for Mattel to make some money.
I personally love re-releases and repaints. It keeps figures accessible for collectors, and also saves money in design budgets so that money can go to deco, new tooling, etc on other figures in the wave. I think the HOC Rikishi and Kane are great examples - both figures have with more and/or better accessories than the original releases, while Mattel didn't have to invest in new tooling or design time on those figures.

This is exactly what I was talking about. I think just the general interest in wrestling can drive the market, and seeing what figures are still in popular demand that they can put out in repaints, new accessories and what not.

I'm not judging anyone whatsoever, but I always looked at it as "These are completely different, scale, size differences, bodies" I just thought there was far more contrasting between the two than comparison.

They could also change the boot color to red or blue. Akeem sometimes wore blue boots (and for some reason dark red boots on occasion). That would ACTUALLY be a reason for me to buy another Akeem. Edit...Just noticed he also wore white boots.

I understand your point of view, it totally makes sense. For me, I didn't have a lot of extra cash at the time, and I had a lot of Classic Superstars figures. The thought of restarting and making that financial commitment was overwhelming, because you know how collecting can be lol. I didn't truly start collecting Mattel until late 2014, and now I have 250+ figures.

I liked when they re-released the legends and gave us a first time in the line Magnum TA. Do that again and add Don Muraco or Hercules. The other characters are debatable.

He wore them in the couple of months after his transformation is my best guess, because he was wearing them in his debut squash match. The white ones I saw a picture of Bossman fighting him (not the Wrestlemania match between the two)

I lost my two Elite 12 Kanes in a flood a couple of years ago, so I'm pretty ecstatic about those getting re-released. I also lost my Rick Martel's Arrogance atomizer, but still have the figure, so fingers crossed for that one, too.
I do hate that they take a spot away from what could be a new figure, but when you missed out the first time around or hate to use an expensive figure for customizing, it's pretty wonderful.
