There’s almost no way this winds up being bad news for them, at least financially.
They’ll have a presence on another network that will likely pay good money, and they’re getting a ton of money for Raw. It’s a dramatic change, but one that could be very rewarding to them.
I really think this is all in preparation for a sale.

Where would they put SD on the Fox networks? FX? If so they'd have a lot of leeway. FX lets the F-Word fly pretty freely on some of their series (I'm looking at you Snowfall and American Horror Story) wonder if Smackdown will be able to get more risqué (of course not to the point of saying or S#**

The programming wouldn't change at all. WWE is not in the business of creating a risque product anymore. Also, USA allows as much language as FX does. Mr. Robot is about as vulgar as anything on FX, completely unedited. Anyway, WWE stock soared today. So, Wall Street certainly likes this forecast.

If it's on FS1, that might be a problem, as in a lot of markets, those are also the channels that show the games of their local NBA and NHL franchises. I know my local FS1 affiliate shows every game not on TNT or ABC/ESPN for my Cavs and for the Bluejackets.

Im surprised USA will pay that much money to keep RAW but will let SD slide. I would imagine SD still brings better ratings then anything else on USA.

FX is being sold to Disney, so if Smackdown does go to Fox it won't be on it.
It would have to be on FS1 or FS2. The regional Fox sports stations show the local teams Nba/Nhl/Mlb, so it wouldn't work.

Yeah, local sports shouldn’t be on FS1. Cavs are probably on whatever Fox Sports channel the Reds are on.

Did the Fox negotiations fall through? I don’t think they’re actually able to negotiate right now. I read about an exclusive negotiating period between WWE and USA thru the spring.

Facebook and Amazon are among the names being mentioned where it may end up.
It also likely will go to 3 hours.

The report from Variety’s Kristopher Tapley first talks about how SmackDown is becoming a huge asset for WWE and the front-running contenders for its media rights are Fox, Facebook, and Amazon.
Continuing on the topic, the report explains how SmackDown could move to three-hours format with the new broadcast partner as it will inflate the show’s advertising potential:
“One option open to “SmackDown” is moving from a two- to three-hour format akin to “Raw.” That would obviously inflate the show’s advertising potential, which might even be an enticing lure for suitors. The smaller two-hour bite is more appealing to fans, but a deeper breath would allow the brand to broaden its storytelling spotlight to include some of its underutilized talents.”

I don’t have Facebook, so that’d be the worse case scenario for me. This is exactly what I meant by “potentially bad”.
I have Amazon Prime, so maybe that’d be okay. But just okay.
Fox Sports would be ideal. Especially if they want SD to rival RAW in terms of importance. Beefing up the roster, going to 3 hours, and giving it its own unique feel would be cool to see.
But I think they’d have to give the shows a completely different writing staff to avoid fatigue. Maybe put Triple H and his team in charge of SD and Vince and his crew in charge of RAW. Build SD’s roster to focus on WRESTLING and let RAW be more SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT based. Move talent to where they’d fit the best.
If they do all that, this could be great IMO. Time will tell.
