Not sure if the guys who run this site are members here, but I just came across this on an LJN Facebook group and had to share. Link at the top: fullyposeable.podbean.comWhat a cool interview discussing a few things that many have wondered forever, and the guy couldn't have seemed more gracious to share and elaborate. Better yet, some of the info he provides is crazy to hear! A couple highlights: - LJNs were originally meant to be the size of bendies - the Rock N Wrestling car/motorcycles - Killer Khan was planned - articulated 3-3/4" figures were planned - why designs changed/how paint variants happened - George Steele's chest hair (makes me wonder if some of those all-brown chests are legit based on his answer) - touching on the unreleased final series

It's still pretty vague on the George Steele figure.. but I swear mine is legit. The paint is too perfect and I bought mine at a flea market years and years ago in a box with about 6 others and they were all pretty much mint. The story sticks in my head cuz I remember I was like 14 thinking he isn't suppose to have painted hair. I remember posting on a big forum back then (around 2001ish) a pic of it to mixed responses. It looked way to perfect to me. Then someone posted a pic of the one they had long after and they're almost identical. I have still have him.. but he's in storage so apologize that I cant post a pic of him at the moment. I picked up a bearded kirschner this way at the same flea market after that too.. and he was pretty much a rumor back then as well.

Possibly vague yes, but how he said they kept coming back from paint as a "blob" of hair was interesting to me. I remember the same time you mention or even the late 90s when one of the first to be shared popped up. Most everyone called it fake because it didn't look like "it should have". Then another couple popped up over the following years, exactly the same with the blob of paint. It seems to follow what this guy says, anyway. Regarding Kirchner, I remember it was around that time you mention that he became well known to exist too. I found mine in a similar manner, and then more to confirm authenticity.

This is amazing information. We need more of these former employees to tell their tales

This is amazing information. We need more of these former employees to tell their tales I used to be afraid that we're getting to the point where many may no longer be around, but when this guy said that he still talks w/some of his ex-coworkers and they have reunions, that gives hope! He seemed pretty enthusiastic about this whole topic, much moreso than similar interviews we've seen for other products. It would be so great to hear more from him, especially if the guys from the website were to compile some fan questions and provide them ahead of time so he could really think about them. Or just fan questions on their own. Try to imagine the entire line of LJNs are bendy 4" figures. That's hilarious! I can't imagine they'd have been as popular, but who knows.

- touching on the unreleased final series What's the info on this? Not much, just speculation that they may have been planned way back at LJN. I believe he said he could/would check into that. The interviewer mentioned Brother Love and another one or two as a lead-in.

It's pretty well known at this point that the final series was supposed to be Brother Love, Smash, Barbarian, Bad News Brown, and Bushwhackers. He didn't provide any newer information beyond that, only that they may have been planned since the LJN days prior to Grand Toys.
I personally find that interesting because it shows that Grand Toys didn't come up with them, LJN originally expected to do them, etc. Definitely not as interesting as most of what else he talked about, but interesting nonetheless.

This guy obviously wasn’t a sculptor. We’ve all seen the vehicles he referred to. He wasn’t as informed as I hoped. Neither were the interviewers though. Nobody could figure out that he was talking about jimmy snuka. That when I knew the interview was gonna be wack.

Well, go do better.
I'm sure they let the Snuka thing go rather than treat him like an idiot for not thinking of the correct name at the time.

Man I’d have loved to have an LJN Bad News Brown and Brother Love. I’m still salty they didn’t even bother trying to make Moolah.

This is actually a great podcast. I listen to them every week. Also they mentioned how there was supposed to be a Killer Khan made. Pretty cool.

Sooo...
The smaller, articulated prototypes have surfaced. Ryder ended up getting them from an LJN contact. He also has some other items like an alternative Liz and Kamala masks. I believe they're for sale/trade.
Just unbelievable to see this stuff.
