So, I know Series 7 is supposed to have Sheamus, HBK, Angle and Orton...but whatever came about the Cena #2, Rock #2, and even the Undertaker grey gloves? Were those ideas axed? Just curious, because grey Undies even appeared in the Series 4-6 pictures last fall/winter. Inquiring minds need to know! The repaints for Cena, Taker & Rock were cancelled. Given they're top talent, there's a chance they could pop up again down the road. I wish we got that grey Taker. Is series 7 really the last series this year? Feels like there's got to be more.

Honestly surprised there has not been a Rusev yet.

Those two were listed for pre-order by Amazon. Likewise, is it safe to assume Big Cass could still be an option without Enzo? My Amazon preorder from Feb still shows Orton on an October release. So who knows..

If it weren't for Ringside reliably stocking these waves, I'd have probably given up on the line months ago. It's the only saving grace at the moment.

So, just pondering this:
IF these really aren't selling good, could this line end in a wimper with Wave 7? I hope not, but what if it does?
What does this do to the Hasbro market? Would prices drop back down quite a bit? Just wondering if alot of collectors who got excited about the "Hasbros" coming back and bought up the original collection, would end up losing intrest again if the Mattel line ends up ending and being a huge letdown if they never got the figures they really hoped for. Re-selling collections and flooding the market with the old figures?
Just wondering if anyone has thought about this.

I wish we could get some kind of conformation the line is doing good or not. Its hard to tell right now because series 3 came out in November. Series 4 isn't hitting stores until July, so if you didn't order from Ringside that is a long wait. I'm not sure what will happen, Mattel probably doesn't even know. And for the Hasbro market, I'd guess it keeps going up regardless of retros. I just think the fact the line is so old, almost 30 years! they are becoming what LJN has been, Very expensive to collect.
One thing I always think about is what if WWE ends up with Hasbro again someday. I couldn't even imagine what the original figures would be selling for. Retro line is awesome but they're still not Hasbros. skin tones are dull, really throws them off when compared to Hasbro line.

Honestly surprised there has not been a Rusev yet. Or Braun Strowman.

I get the feeling that this line was a passion project of someones in the planning stages and then as it actually came to light, Mattel kind of got cold feet and that is why we have so many modern wrestlers as part of this line. It is very strange that a line centered around nostalgia and an older toy line has so many modern characters.

Totally agree and I think you're probably right (I remember Bill saying he only worked on Series 1 & 2). The series suddenly changed a LOT with Series 3: the app thing, the price rise, the different color cards, nearly all current roster...

I may be in the minority here but id rather have current mega star instead of unneeded remake of what Hasbro did. I consider Flair a needed remake for sure. I’d also much rather have any old school wrestler over current mid card guys.

I don't understand people adding figures to the Hasbro Collection. This is a separate line.
Adding the wwe retro line to the Hasbro line, just go on ebay and buy customs, no difference.

Problem is customs look like customs. You can see paint lines and they just don't look near as crisp as something from a factory. At least about 95% of them, and the couple guys that do top work get big bucks for them. We have an emotional attachment to the Hasbro line and have dreamed of it being added to. To have figures to display with the Hasbros and have them blend in as if Hasbro had made more guys they missed or different attires.

Well it seems we won’t be getting that Big Cass figure either - he and Enzo can share the “Rhythm Greg” position in the line.
