In an effort to get a better gauge of where we're at with our numbers, King Richius and I are instituting a new sign-up process going forward that we'll need any current members interested in sticking around to retroactively help us out with so that we can have a more accurate tag list for show sign-ups going forward.
Starting today, anyone looking to join the WFWF will need to first post a completed character profile in the Schedule, Signups, and Roster page. They will then need to sign the new WFWF Active Member Roll Call to be considered active and available for booking.
Any existing members who intend to remain active will need to sign the roll call.
By signing, your user handle will be added to the tag list included in each show’s sign up thread, as we’re still going to be running those to give folks who need the opportunity to duck out for a show the option to do so.
However…
...going forward, we’re going to need responses in the sign-up threads, whether you can participate on the show in question or not. To be perfectly candid for a moment, I’ve sat by on too many sign-up threads waiting for a response from folks who I see active about the forums here at large, apparently unwilling to give us the courtesy of a thumbs up or down.
That sucks.
From here on, failing to respond when tagged in a sign up thread (which will only happen should you sign the roll call) will see you dropped from the tag list. Should you find yourself dropped, and a second show cycle passes without you signing the roll call once more, your profile will be archived, and you will need to repeat the sign-up process in order to be considered active once more.
Naturally, there are a handful of tenured, historically reliable folks that have understandings in place with King Richius and/or myself regarding temporary leaves of inactivity, but this is a considerably short list of members. If you cannot, for certain, identify yourself as one of those individuals, the above rules likely apply to you.
We've discussed this at length, and both agree that this is a reasonable medium between the stringent, "if you're active, you're booked, no questions asked" approach of days gone by and the more loose, come as you please approach of more recent years. For the fed to thrive, we need to know who we can depend upon to be with us going forward in order to build feuds, angles, pushes, and stories that can be seen to completion with those most engaged in being a part of what we do here. No one benefits from finding themselves involved in a massive debut or return, only to have the subject of said event disappear without a trace one show in.
We hope that most of you will stick with us, as I like to think we have some pretty fun things in store for this place going forward. Ideas between us, however, are only that without you folks involved and making 'em happen.
