I am a huge fan of NXT and I find that it fits my weekly wrestling fix far better than RAW and Smackdown does, mainly because it only asks an hour of my time. I have long wondered if NXT could survive on its own, but when you look at some of the wrestlers on Twitter posting pictures from NXT house shows, it looks like there is about ten people in the crowd! Do any of you know what the NXT attendance figures are like? I know when they did the NXT tour here in the UK a while back, they used the same arenas that they do for the RAW and Smackdown tours, but in the USA it seems like they use way smaller venues.

Based on what I've been able to find, they draw between 150-400 on their Florida loops.
When they go outside of Florida, its usually in the thousands.

That's incredible I would have thought it would have been in the 1000s for any show. I'm not trying to start a debate but I highly doubt the numbers are between 150-400. C'mon that's lower than the attendance for a freakin indy show.

I just went to a house-show (pics in the NXT board) and there was maybe 300 people there. I think they're in a constant rebuilding phase. Which hurts. And for some dumb reason, they have the NXT roster split into two live shows. Half of the talent was elsewhere performing. IMO it should be an all hands on deck sorta thing. Least till they build up or bring in new stars.
They should have the 205 Live talent tour with them. It'd beef up the shows considerably and offer new match ups to fans in attendance. Book something like Lio Rush vs Ricochet or Velveteen Dream vs Cedric Alexander.

There is a report earlier in this year saying attendance was down 20% in 2017 for nxt live events.
The split crew deal is killing them.

That's taken me by surprise, the growth of nxt and resurgence in wrestling in recent years makes nxt out to be unstoppable. Half the time people say nxt is better than the current main wwe product. So I'm really a bit lost in it all to be honest.

Thanks for the replies, I knew it was not that high based on the photos I was seeing.
Makes you wonder if NXT would be viable as its own brand.

These NXT house shows are mostly for developmental wrestlers to gain in-ring experience before moving onto the NXT network show

It's because nxt is now this big thing I guess I just expected more. You have to remember that the only people going to NXT shows for the most part are people that subscribe to the Network. It isn't that many people. And that isn't a knock on the WWE Network, I mean just comparative to the casual fans who would only go to Raw or SD.

The Observer posts the attendance numbers. The Florida loop draw 250-450 fans and the road crew draw 800-1500 fans.

I was at a house show in Ocala a while ago and it was in a hotel ballroom tent and another in an armory so I don't think they get big crowds here. I also think they don't try to in Florida.

Hard to believe a match like Neville vs Sami Zayn would main event shows with 300 people only as far back as 4 years ago

I live in Fl an go shows about 2 to 3 times a month. They draw anywhere from like 100 to 300 ppl. An like others have said they split their roster up an u never have all the big ppl there. Tickets for first 2 rows r $20 an general admission is $10. Very cheap tickets but u get what u get for them, the ppv's bring in a bunch more as u can see. But for here it's common to have shows near u at least once a month. Still haven't seen Ciampa tho besides going to full sail.

The Florida shows run in smaller venues than the touring live events do, and with mostly people who don't appear on TV they're not going to draw a lot. I think most importantly it gives the other wrestlers a chance to work on a show in front of the crowd instead of just working at the performance center while they're not on TV.

I went to a show couple years ago that had some decent names and it was lucky if it was 500 or 600 people there.

NXT is developmental, it couldn’t ever be self sufficient - it isn’t meant to be. If it was supposed to be profitable, they would pay talent less and thus miss out on talent. It’s a place to create the next generation of stars, either from scratch or helping indie wrestlers be TV-ready. It’s a hugely expensive operation that eventually pays off by filling Raw and SmackDown with talent to perform on the shows that bring in that delicious TV rights money. HHH has crafted a fun little niche with it where he’s made anti-WWE fans love a WWE product, but don’t be fooled by the echo chambers. It’s nowhere near the popularity of the real shows. It just has more appeal to the hardcore fanbase, and that’s fine. It means WWE has the ultimate internet fan promotion and don’t have to worry about whether it draws money.
