I watched Days of Future Past: The Rogue cut tonight and it got me to thinking about the X-Universe....and We were talking about which was our fave then....and there was fair variation. So I said I would throw it out there....
Mine is still X2 after all these years......still find it so enjoyable, watchable & THAT ending. DOFP runs it a close 2nd. Also? I didn't list the Deadpool's because it isn't in this X-Universe if you like (and would win hands down LOL)
Discuss.......

Logan and X2. The opening scene with Nightcrawler and Logan slaughtering all of Stryker's men in the mansion are highlights for sure. I also loved it in Logan when he slaughtered the cholos at the beginning and any scene with Laura.

Boyd Holbrook was great as Pierce. Those are favourite parts for me in X2 as well Jesse. Loved Brian Cox as Stryker & the scarp with Deathstrike. Mystique was also excellent in X2. She had so many cool scenes.

X-2 easily!
Such a great movie that I still enjoy watching. Nightcrawler at the beginning & the scene where he saves Rogue in mid air are both perfect. I love how they were bracing for impact and Magneto stopped the jet. I loved they handled Pyro choosing Magneto over Xavier. And for me personally, Jackman was at his best. Great stuff... all of it.

Voted Logan but have a soft spot for a few of these. First Class and DOFP are high up there and The Wolverine is probably my least favourite. 15 years on I still think X2 is painfully overrated.

I loved all of the films but there's something special about the ones based on Logan.

Great thread!
I would say that Days Of Future Past is my favorite movie, but that first X-Men men movie is probably one of my most nostalgic.
I remember the hype leading into this movie like it was yesterday. Growing up in the 80's and 90's my dad introduced me to comic books, his favorite was X-Men. So he had been waiting for this movie his whole life. At the time it came out in 2000, I would have been 17 or 18 and at this time I was (or thought I was) too cool to go to the movies with my dad so I had not been to see anything with him in quite some time. However, X-Men was different, I knew that this was one movie had to go and see with my dad and I remember him going to the movie theater about three weeks before opening night to pre-book the tickets...... which you could not even do at our theatre back then.
Anyway, that first X-Men movie was so much fun and my dad freaking loved it which was the best thing about it. Really that along with Blade set the stage for what we have now.
Days Of Future Past has always been my favorite X-Men story. It was one of the first comic book arks as a kid that I remember making me excited for the next issue and I also remember the awesome (but different) take on it in the X-Men animated series of the 90's.

I think DoFP Rogue Cut is my favorite. X2 and Logan are right there as well.
I like most of them. Other than the visuals/design of Apocalypse, I thought that movie was good as well. Although the Weapon X scene did feel like a bit of reach. Even X3 gave us a fastball special and a phenomenal Beast portrayal.

The only thing I didn't like about First Class was the characters they got to use. Had it been the full blown reboot like the director wanted, with the original team, I think it would have been far better. Cyclops instead of Havok would have been nice. I hated how the only character that died was Darwin. Considering that is whole shtick was that he adapted to survive. And Angel was one of the most useless villains ever. She had butterfly wings and gleeked fire. But their use of Magneto and his relationship with Xavier was some of my favorite X-universe moments.
DOFP was great. They did a great job cleaning up the previous mistakes. But it's a shame they had to dedicate a whole movie to clean up other people's s**t.
Apocalypse was meh. So disappointed because I loved Apocalypse in the cartoon and was looking forward to see him on screen. Unfortunately, he was executed poorly.
I liked Logan, but I don't think it was as good as others do. I hated the fact he fought a younger version of himself. We've seen that in Terminator and it felt overdone IMO.

Pat that, X-Men, X2 and DOFP are probably a tie. I like Apocalypse as well

My 1st Class /DOFP/ Apocalypse thoughts/issues.... 1st Class Yeah Vaughn & Donner wanted a full reboot but Kinberg the studio toady inserted dialogue & scenes to make it 100% a prequel at the instruction of the biggest villain in Comic book moviedom......f*ckin Rothman. Hence, Jackman & Romjin being in there. BUT? I don't mind that's its a prequel. Vaughn was careful enough.....despite his belligerence. The expanding on Magnetos time in the concentration camp was excellent....but they 100% missed out on an opportunity to tease Sinister here. It could have been so Simply done too. Loved his Nazi Hunting phase too. Darwin's death is weak sauce. His power would have teleported him out of there....I also disliked that Banshee wasn't Irish. Sue me but there wasn't a peep about that change of ethnicity. I also would have preferred Cyclops than Havok but Vaughn( at his own admittance) "didn't give one crap about who came first or whatever". Much preferred the cat like appearance for Beast too. January Jones as Emma Frost.....they could've done A LOT better and she was problematic on set I believe. Bacon was great as Sebastian Shaw. DOFP: The deaths of Banshee & Emma Frost needed to have been explained better than they were.....a throwaway line from Eric confirming they are dead is Michael Bay territory with missing TFs in his sequels. I would have liked Logan to have joined the fight in the future and went out swinging when it all went pear shaped.......before everything reset. The Rogue cut is better. Pity Storm never had her glorious checkout that was planned. But Berry being Berry killed that stone dead. Apocalypse: Weapon X scene shouldn't have been included. Just muddied the waters further. Angel should not have been used. He was clearly a teen in X3 so why is he a teen in the 80s? Nightcrawler was fine because he was younger than his X2 self. timeline just changed when Kurt met the X-Men. Dark Pheonix....they still don't get it IMO. Next year will tell for sure but yeah....not optimistic. Those costumes at the end? totally on point......great stuff.

Days of Future Past.
Also, why no Deadpool movies in the poll? They're definitely a part of the X-universe.
