I honestly like mattel. The only problem with them is the constant issue of them choosing the wrong parts on figures that they already have molds for, using the wrong colors and most importantly giving one off figures that are shelfwarmers unique parts as opposed to figures who need them. Other than that I think they've done a good job. I personally wouldn't like hasbro. I've collected the marvel legends and although I do like some of their figures, I hate the ratchet joints, the rubbery arms and the the cheap feeling quality of plastic they use. A lot of times I could notice the difference in the plastics between the hips and lower legs right off the bat. I also don't really like how almost every figure reuses the same molds. Figuarts are good, however I'm not a fan of the torso articulation because it looks weird. Anything else figuarts I like. Oh and could we PLEASE get a '97 starrcade figuarts Sting with interchangble arms with his jacket???

They need to make more Cenas and Romans, asap. Say what you want Cena figures always sell. They’d be stupid not to make more. Reigns in the other hand will haunt targets for months, years, decades, centuries, millenniums etc.

Not to be a dick but I kinda wish they would fail and we could have some other company make wwe figures. Mattel has dropped the ball too many times and keep making too many cash grab decisions that are bullcrap. It’s a business they are supposed to make cash grabs, they are a business. We as a collectors are a niche market within their target market. All toy companies are going to feel the ramifications of toys r us closing.

i doubt it will be in time for this holiday season, but KB IS coming back. TRU will likely remain open in CA and reopen operations inside the u.s. after a certain length of time in some capacity even if it is an online marketplace. the thing that i do not get it - people are gonna buy the items they want whether they are available at toys r us or not. Sure there will be immediate problems to overcome but after those initial problems, the market is still there. They'll just go to target, wal mart, amazon etc from now on instead of tru.

Sure there will be immediate problems to overcome but after those initial problems, the market is still there. They'll just go to target, wal mart, amazon etc from now on instead of tru. People will go elsewhere to buy things they want. But a big portion of toy sales comes from impulse buys, add on items, and other unplanned purchases. When the TRU closure announcement happened, analysts were projecting that 15% of TRU's sales will be lost entirely. When you're talking about a company that had over $10 Billion in annual revenue, that's a huge hit to every single toy company that will cost them millions upon millions in lost sales. Doesn't mean things won't bounce back within the next couple years. But it's something every single company is going to be impacted by in the short term.

obviously immediate impact is a sure thing and unavoidable. But to think it would put matty out of business is to assume the entire toy industry is crumbling because corporate cronies at bain capital are greedy. I could see a possible merge or sale with hasbro involved. possibly. if it would be allowed. But an end of the company? probably not. Their best bet at this point IMO would be to sell Barbie. Barbie isnt what it used to be and it never will be no matter how hard they try. It just keeps failing over and over again. Sad they won't just let it go.

According to a recent article they are losing money esp now that toys r us is under. Could wwe mattel be endanger? Or do those 90,000s roman reigns figures keep them going I'm sure they're losing money because Toys R Us owed them a ton and went bankrupt so Mattel isn't going to get the money owed to them. That doesn't mean they're in danger. But Mattel did just lose huge source of revenue that bought toys from them. But so did Hasbro. So did Lego.

It’s 2018 and people still think Roman and Cena don’t make money for Mattel. Just sad.

I mean all the Mattel stores except the one in El Sugundo is closing down. So.... This has nothing to do with failing. Mattel will always be alive because of Barbie and hot wheels Because you can’t find a figure you want or a series is being pushed back (for reasons we don’t know) does not mean the company is flopping. The wwe line is not the end all be all of mattel

The wwe line is not the end all be all of mattel Have you been into a retail store recently? Barbie is doing horribly. They keep trying new gimmick after new gimmick (better articulation. new body sizes. interactivity.) thinking it will help and it simply won't. Kids do not care about Barbie anymore. She's constantly on a clearance rack and steadily losing shelf space. I remember the year we took her down to 20 feet at wal mart. It was a big to-do. That was the beginning of the end for her. The only people who buy barbies anymore are barbie collectors and the occasional gift for a birthday party when they have no clue what the child is interested in.

My niece and all her friends do nothing but play with barbies. I always see little girls in the doll aisles. They’re not selling like they used to, but it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be. I don’t know why so many of you are constantly grasping at straws, trying to insist mattel is failing and are a god awful company. It’s as if you guys want them to tank, even though you pore hundreds of dollars into the line
