He was at New York Comic Con last year promoting a comic he was putting out. I tried two days in a row to get a ticket for his autographing but they were out in minutes.
My dad is a chef and he’s a big fan of guys like Anthony and Andrew Zimmern and all those guys that travel and talk about food.

This was a tough one. I've been a fan for a long time.

Just woke up to this. This one hit me a little bit. He's by far my favorite show host. Parts Unknown is amazing. And he was pretty young too. Shame. I haven't heard how he died yet, just that he was found. God I hope it wasn't alcohol or drugs. He's had problems with alcohol before, he's mentioned as much. Hope it was just natural causes for his and his family and friend's sakes. RIP.

Follow up to my post. According to CNN, it was suicide. Dammit.

I guess you really don't ever know what somebody is going through. We see celebrities, and it looks like they have it all. Money, power, opportunities and lives that we could never dream of....but you just never know. It's a real shame.
RIP.

Sad, yes. But for a guy who was just a food critic, he cursed entirely too much.

RIP. Never knew who the guy was but just saw some of his stuff. I liked his character and it seems he gave Gordon Ramsey a run for his money in the swear department.

RIP. I only really saw one episode of his show and that's when he went to Croatia. My family is from there so that's why I checked it out. I learned new things.

I had the pleasure of meeting him when I was starting out as a line cook. He trained the owner of the restaurant I worked at. Really great guy.

Tough loss. I've been watching a lot of No Reservations and Parts Unknown. He'll be missed.

i was shocked, didnt watch a lot of his show but he was pretty amusing, and his appearance on Archer was hilarious
if people who have money and fame still cant be completely happy whats the hope for the rest of us, i have enough reasons to put a bullet in my head some days as it is.
