Got a source for that? I searched Google and still cant find anything. If you Google "uk consumer law returns" the which? Guide at the top breaks it down. I thought it was law they had to accept all returns but turns out the law only applies to faulty goods, and if an item is bought online the retailer is bound by law to accept returns under the distance selling regulations. So just to be clear not law to accept non faulty returns, but I'm sure there isn't a retailer in the UK that doesn't accept returns If a store has a return policy by law they have to stick to it

I bought something second hand on eBay once and it was advertised as perfect condition but when I got it it clearly wasn’t perfect, it was broken. The seller messaged me when I asked for a refund and they said sold as is. I quoted the 79 Act and they gave me a full refund. Anything faulty or advertised incorrectly has to be refunded. Most stores in the UK also have their own rules stating you can return non-faulty items up until 28 days after purchase.

Some stores will put clearance unreturnable for whatever reason but it's not illegal.

That may be true for UK guys but in the good 'ol USA just slap a u returnable sticker kn the item and there you go. Works for hot foods/ most clothing pieces , and others weird items

I got a solution that might work to prevent thief's stealing. 1.For belts tighten the crap out of them in the package so they a hard to pull out or cut out withing store stealing time.(Obvious it be easier to retrieve belt when at home with knives and scissors)2. Make belts in a position were it's unaccess like the baf series with the arms/legs/torso. Pt2. Make belts baf ?(So no one would steal complete belts and harder to steal pieces to make the whole belt) 3.for figures do same as 1. Or make plastic on package thicker or harder where it's impossible to cut them out and steal it. 4.(Doubt it cause there are just toys ) Put those censors like the electronics have or cameras by the toy section . 5.Make carding on box thicker just like 3. 6. Confront that stealing B*** for stealing your precious (golem voice) Wwe figs and buts a nakamura and low blow them . And report to the police And that's it's for non stealing toys 101

Morality aside, I do wonder why this bothers people so much. Again, I'm not condoning or advocating for it, but the person found the figure before you and, had they not returned it sans belt, would have still prevented you from finding and buying it. Beyond the fact that it's illegal and unethical, stealing affects the entire collecting base. Stolen merchandise negatively impacts the producer's profits, and the added expense is often passed on to consumers.

Belt tighting, around figure, tied up better, etc, would still be able to be taken. If it’s around the figure, the thief would take the figure. Extra steps in place make it harder, but can/will be taken if the thief wants it’s bad. (And yeah, there’s always take it home & return it missing content) 2. BAF pieces were taken just as easy as belts. Bottom of most BAF figures from TRU or Wally were cut open missing pieces. (Thief’s would know where to cut) Pt2. Hell no! Making belts like BAF pieces is horrible. It’s bad enough you have to buy certain figures you don’t want, just to get the BAF that you do want, let alone BAT (Build A Title). No way, no thanks. 3. You’d have to make the plastic thick (like storage bins) & more plastic which may mean more money for the manufacturers which bumps up the cost of figures. (People complain how DM figures or EG figures aren’t worth the extra $) 4. I’ve been to 3 Wallys that have a mini camera hanging from the backing of shelves in the toy section. Each section of the toys area had 1. 5. See number 3. 6. If you see it, tell an employee. Problem is, there isn’t a real good solution. Hide it, add extra ties, thick plastic, different style packaging, employee do something, etc means nothing when not all employees will do something when caught or when someone takes it home to steal the content & return it missing content or replaced with the wrong content.

Nothing will stop it no mattel what you do or try if they want it bad enough they will get it with ripping the box open cutting it with a razor blade swapping it out or by just taking the whole thing box and all I think that the most stolen figures I seen in my area was when they first took overin 2010 everything from basic to elite and every other series was stolen and cut out the box's It's still like that now here but nothing as bad as it was back then

I’ve seen TRU use locked plastic cases on figures with belts. This of course was at more seedy locations.
