So, I guess the rumors are true about the WWE trying to make a run for Kenny Omega. They are certainly giving him some nice coverage. Whether he accepts or not, that's a different story. BTW the Subject is the Actual Headline from the WWE Network Facebook Page. I couldn't figure out how to share it so I had to repost it to my account, www.facebook.com/WWENetwork/videos/1791717084256157/?hc_ref=ARQZ0zaCpfgf5G22eY-jgZZqJ8_OzY8rxxpCTLPkIdpux0uXtWSOhVH9g8aGGdplE5ASide Note: Never understood the hype over him. Don't get his wrestling style. Honestly thought (by name only) that Kenny Omega was a regimmicked Kenny Dykstra who somehow made it big away from the WWE. When I finally saw him wrestle, realized I was wrong about the Dykstra thing. Interested to see if he comes in how and if he'll be used like a Finn Balor or an AJ Styles. Styles sustained his fanfare and actually built it up for a decade. Omega is just developing one over hte past 3 years it seems. Same with Balor before he joined NXT.

I’ve seen a few Omega matches and enjoyed them. He has a decent look too. Kind of average sized so he can mix it up with most guys.
What I don’t get is the hype over the Young Bucks. I’ve seen way more of their stuff and have honestly never enjoyed one of their matches.

Which is few and far between nowadays.

WWE is definitely making a play, but Omega is a unique dude who seems perfectly content carving his own path elsewhere. It's going to have to be a huge offer that supersedes Omega's interest in being the guy to do it without WWE.
All WWE can offer is money, and that's not the be-all, end-all for some of these guys anymore - especially those that are making a killing on the indies like Omega, Cody, and the Bucks. They certainly can't match the way he's treated, the push he receives, and the creative freedom he has elsewhere.
Omega is also in a bit of a weird spot. He's too big of a deal to go to NXT, so you basically have to give him the AJ Styles treatment. Unlike Styles, though, he doesn't have major national television exposure. So, it becomes a case of whether or not you think 2018 Internet exposure is as relevant as early-mid 2000s TNA exposure.

It's extremely weird to see them promoting him. I don't think he has any interest in coming to the WWE, though. He is a king in Japan and he'd never be allowed to do the things in the WWE that got him so over in the first place. Guys have a lot more liberties and wrestling is covered as more of a sport there than it is here. If he wound up jumping ship, it would have to be strictly as a money grab at the end of his career. Otherwise, what would he possibly have to gain?

I guess I’m the only one that sees them putting attention on him, mainly due to promoting the Elite/New Day Street Fighter thing...?

Haitch wants him to come in so bad lol. Rightfully so, the dudes got it all and I could see him having a similar run like AJ has had. They just put the strap on him so he’ll probably stay in NJPW for another year or so. The ball is literally in his court, and WWE should cough up some big money to get a major talent like him.

Bruce & Conrad briefly spoke about him in the podcast about AJ Styles. It was so freaking weird to watch the WWE Network and hear TNA, Dixie Carter, WCW, Lucha Underground and Kenny Omega all mentioned.

I can see it now. Kane beats Kenny Omega in under 5 minutes in a Royal Rumble qualifying match in the 2nd hour of Raw. Then he and R-Truth lose in their efforts for the tag team titles on the pre-show. In all seriousness, WWE have been getting better with using these indy guys but you just KNOW they'd Kenny up.

Sounds like Omega and the Bucks contracts run out in January after WrestleKingdom. The speculation will be crazy around that time. There have been rumors the last 2 January’s about Omega, but he seemed like he had unfinished business in NJPW.
Now that he has the belt and will most likely carry it up until WK, you gotta wonder what else there is for him to do there. The time might be now if he’s looking to cash in. His stock is at an all time high.
The question is, does WWE even know what to do with him? He is arguably the best in the world right now and will not come in and get in mid card feuds doing obstacle courses and food fights etc.
It will be fascinating come January

It must be sooner rather than later that he will jump ship to the WWE. I can't wait for it. I just hope they let him keep his broom lol

I guess I’m the only one that sees them putting attention on him, mainly due to promoting the Elite/New Day Street Fighter thing...? This. You guys don't think WWE doesn't want the Bucks too? They've been poaching Bullet Club members for years now, why wouldn't they go after the Elite too? When asked, the suits will claim that they love competition and blah blah blah, but WWE clearly doesn't want anyone else to exist in professional wrestling. Sure they'll throw some crumbs to small companies like Evolve that kiss the ring but make no mistake about it, they want to be the ONLY game in town.

Why on earth would WWE want the Young Bucks? They already employ an overrated tag team who do nothing but superkicks.
