Yes it has, but maybe because he's not re-signing. I'd love to see him back in RIng of Honor.

Why would you build Bryan back up to the level he was just to have him leave? A few mid-card feuds until he signs (or doesn't) makes more sense for the present.

"Reports" are WWE wants him full time and Bryan wants more of a part time gig. Supposedly Bryan has hired a new lawyer to help iron out some details. So that's potentially good news for those that want him to stay.
Honestly, I'd be surprised if he doesn't re-sign. He has said in the past if WWE would clear him, he'd stay. Plus Brie is still employed by WWE and they have their show on E! Network. Besides matches with some of NJPW talent, I have no interest in seeing him go to ROH. He's above that IMO. And those guys in NJ have been known to be very stiff and that scares me with Bryan.
With WWE, Bryan can work a safer style for a few more years and make serious bank. Then if they choose, him and Brie could move to a mountaintop and drink goats milk all day.

I understand the opinion of not using Bryan extensively until he signs, but that doesn’t mean that you just sizzle away his return momentum...
have him have a blood feud. a real devastating rivalry, and have a heel go over him under unfair circumstances. then if he leaves, you have momentum for the guy who ended Bryan’s career in wwe...if he stays, you have a big rivalry match to get the payoff for and a belt contender for after that angle.

I feel like they may be doing that, and waiting to see what happens with Bryan’s contract before deciding whether he faces Miz at SummerSlam (or the September PPV) and gets retired, or whether they save Bryan vs Miz for Mania.

I really don't get why he's been kept away from The Miz. He despises The Miz and requested that he got drafted to Smackdown and then neither men interacted for months.
Instead of fighting in random matches and feuding with Big Cass he should've entered a huge program with Miz and it would've been perfect for his return story. They gave away too much too quickly with Bryan by having him fight AJ and Nakamura for free.
Then again this is 2018 WWE so what should we expect.

Rumors are they want to save it for SummerSlam or (some are speculating) Wrestlemania. And that they tease it every so often to keep it fresh only for Bryan to get caught up in something else. It's a feud everyone wants to see, so it makes sense to save it for a bigger show with brighter lights. I think it'd be great if eventually we find out Miz had hired Cass & The Bludgeon Brothers to take out Bryan. It'd add more fuel to the fire and it'd explain everything nicely.

IMO it would've been better if Miz has stayed on Raw and then got challenged by Bryan close to Summerslam time. But Miz is on Smackdown by Bryan's request so stalling their feud until a big event doesn't make any sense from a kayfabe point of view. Miz taunted him constantly so Bryan should be itching to rip his head off instead of letting him freely do his own thing. Put it like this his matches with AJ, Hardy and Nakamura were given away on Smackdown and yet they would've been more suited on a big PPV so it would've been more practical if he had immediately entered a feud with Miz and then moved on to other guys. I'm going to make another reference to Shawn Michaels's 2002 return and point out something. He immediately got his revenge on HHH and then we got to see him step in the ring with Jericho at WM19 and that was spectacular beyond words because Jericho was a post 1998 guy so seeing him fight Michael's was breathtaking and surreal. Sadly the magic isn't there with Bryan and that's because they've thrown him at every guy possible so soon after his return.

The roster hasn't changed all that much since Bryan retired. That's the difference. Bryan has already fought the Miz before

The big 4 should've been saved for 1st time matches instead of wasting them.
